Dancer Archive
Thread: wow, i never realized untill yesterday
I sometimes wonder how many dancers actuallysell themselves and if this doesn'thelp to createpoor behavior. Sure, I've been offered big credits for more than a dance. But even when I was starting out, and 12k was A LOT of credits, I turned them down. I'll do a "private dance" in one of the side rooms, but that's all they get... a dance. (Lapdance=exotic 2) If they ask for more, it's not happening. It's just not the reputation I want. If gentlemengive me gifts, I'll accept them, it's how I make my living as an entertainer, but they'll be disappointed if the expect anything more than a dancein return. Maybe if entertainers weren'tso dependent on tips and gifts then we wouldn't be giving a wrong impression. That aside, I'd betthere are dancers, maybe just a tiny few, who would "do favors" for credits and gifts and this might encourage improper behavior on the part of some ofthe patrons.
Nevertheless, thanks for assisting a fellow dancer!
There are more then just a few, I'm sorry to say.

The vast majority of people are extremely well-behaved and very polite. But there are a few who ruin it for everyone.
The times that the bad ones have come in, it hasn't been a problem for long. My troupe was performing one night live in Theed, just to give one of the hologrind capitols a taste of a what a real show should be like. And sure enough... some slob comes in 'Wazzup, b**ches'... and it was over for him. He was immediately surrounded by 5 of our appreciative spectators, who managed to convince the guy to duel (I presume) and spent what seemed like the next ten minutes beating the guy incapped repeatedly. Wouldn't DB the guy, because they wanted to do it again...
I think a lot of it comes down to how the dancers portray themselves as well. If you play the role of a tramp, you're more likely to bring out this kind of a reaction. Surprise. If you maintain a higher level of class, it won't prevent the scum from starting up, but I've found that a lot of other players react to defend the honor of the lady, and step in. And some dancers I know, who also happen to be TKM, just take matters into their own bare hands...

Yes, unfortunate but true. ![]()
Heck, there's a player PA hall on my server that's an 'Adult Lounge', with erotic dancing unpstairs and more downstairs.
That alone doesn't help too much.
I learned two things. First, I learned entertainers stick together. Someone who was abusive to one entertainer quickly found that nobody would perform for them.
The second thing I learned is that male or female, you'll have to deal with these people, just in different ways. Neither really more or less pleasant than the other.
Fortunately those people are in the minority, and usually aren't very well armed for a battle of wits. They do sometimes seem like a lot because they are loud and make themselves noticed.
