Ok, so I'm currently bidding on a +12 mind enhancement set of gloves over on Kettemoor Galaxy Trade. Currently, someone has bid more than I have. However, I'm not out of the running, just deciding if I want to bid more or not.
Yet, even if I do, I suspect I more than likely won't win this auction for a couple of reasons. First, my funds are limited. And, second, even if they weren't, I question the economic value of spending that much on skill tapes. I mean, if I spent, say 3 million on this pair of gloves, how long would it take me to make up this money above and beyond what I would have made anyway without the gloves? I mean, I normally charge 5k. So, I'd have to only count the money over 5K, say if I raised my price to 7K or something for these buffs. So, at 2k extra per buff, we're looking at having to sell about 1500 buffs. Heh.
Plus, in all honesty, I have a feeling that having such an enhancement wouldn't actually increase my business. I think people will either come to me or they won't, without regard to that. I could be wrong, of course. But, I have to question how much actual new business would actually be generated to justify such an expenditure.
But, I still want them, pretty badly. So, I ask myself why. And, the only reason I can up with is...well, status and the ability to contribute more to my city, guild, and friends. Which, in reality, the "helping" and "being more useful" part, if I'm going to be completely truthful, is nothing more than a glorified, humble way of saying, "ego."
So, alas, is it worth the money? Probably not. Do I still want it? Uh huh.
So, I've decided to be a little more proactive about trying to find one that isn't going to cost me 3 million + credits. So, my question to anyone in the know is...which mobs drop these god forsaken things? I'm a TKM, I'm going to go beat some NPC ass in the hope of finding one of these things. I know the journey will be long and there is no guarantee. But, any suggestions? Even if I don't find any, perhaps I can pick up some other loot I can find while I raise funds and spend 20 million in auction. 
Any help, suggestions on where to look, what to mangle, would be greatly appreciated!!

Dude, I saw that auction, Drygo. It sucks that the starting bid had to be 2 Mil. That's friggin' ridiculous. I understand that a +12 enhancement is quite valuable, but I've never been able to earn that much on a character. I've managed to make 1 million I think on my Merchant/Artisan/Architect. The only reason I have any money is because two of my friends quit at the same time and left me all their credits... and now that they are back, I've given them a majority of their money back because I didn't feel like it was mine to spend.
I wish more people would offer these things in price ranges like Ana found. 50K for a +9... that was a nice sell!

I've heard that Nyax and the corvette drop higher level skill tapes then you will find in the whatsijigger caves (borgle? squill?). However, I have not done either of these two missions so I can't say from personal experience.

The nightsisters also drop good tapes. Before they got their force powers back I could solo almost any of them as a TKM, with the exception of the elders. 100% resist to kinetic sucks.

Hee! Yeah, the Corvette is out of the question and not worth the effort of dying 20 times per attempt to find nothing. Nyax, I'll check it out. As it stands right now, I have none, so even a +1 would make me happy at this point.

Nyax also drops good stuff, however, he's on some crazy spawn timer, between that and the campers, he's hard to get to on most servers. I've heard good things about the Corvette too, but now that they added in super battle driods it's a lot harder. Thetapes that drop in the borgle cave arealmost always +1.

There were some +1 enhancements for sale next to the Island Dive a week or so ago. Not sure if they are still there though, as I did mention it to Tiaga earlier too. Some of them were pricey for +1 though.
If I see any though, I'll let you know. I'm all for the Equitable Treatment of Male Dancers!

I'm also going to start my own killing spree to see what I can find. I find it amazing that on my server you can purchase the +5 Jabba's loot leotard for 100K (heck I even bought one for 2K - probably a mistake by the vendor but htey never contacted me so...) but a skill attachment of equal or even less can go foran astronomical amountdepending upon how many people start bidding.
I find that I rarely give the +5 extra to anyone except my former guildmates andother friends so I'm also not even certain why I have been trying so hard to buy one. Is it ego? I'm not certain...possibly. I know what an advantage having a good mind boost can be, especially in PvP battles and many of my friends are regularly involved in PvP so I always try to help them. I'm terrible at PvP combat so the best I can do is to give them the best buff I can and help heal them when it's over.
If I do manage to find one, I'll be certain to let you know who dropped it and how many I had to kill to get it.
by the way if there's a musician here from the Shadowfire server, I have a +1 healing skill tape that I'd be happy to give you. It's not worth much and is only +1 for healing but... you never know who might find it useful.

Bugger. So, Corvette, too hard. Nyax, impossible to get to because of campers. Borgle caves only +1.
Uh, maybe I'll check out those ones you say are for sale, Rayill. I can see myself now...I'll be wearing a buffing outfit of shoes, gloves, pants, shirt, cloak, hat, all with +1 skill tapes.

Yeah, and don't get me started about Jabba giving these things out. I can't even wear them cuz I don't have boobs.

And, hey, me and Bali are most likely going to hit the Vette again sometime soon. You're welcome to come die in your boxers again with us! We've even got it down to a science. You only die for the last 50 minutes as you try and rush the bridge....

You sure you want me going? If I remember correctly, I stood around in my boxers waiting for the trooper to attack you, and then I ran to the bridge hoping you would draw away the fire.
I'm quite chivalrous that way.

There is one on Rori that like every 10 hours has 2 junk piles that I've heard can spawn in the +10 area some bat cave of some sort. The piles are all they way down in. I'm sure some searching on the game guide forum might help.
