Enhance packs.
You don't see AFK Doc Buff Bots do you?
Removing recursive macros is not the answer to the AFK buff bot problem. You all should have something comparible to a Doctors buff pack to do mind buffs with. I think this would solve a lot of problems without creating a bunch of new ones.
Thoughts?

The difference is, a live doctor will always be better than a doc buffbot. An entertainer buffbot, on the other hand, can be made to be better, game mechanics-wise, than a live entertainer. That's why, even though you see doc buffbots, the live doctor's are not hurting economically because of them, while the live entertainers are hurting economically because of the entertainer buffbots.
So...if we were to agree with that premise, the simple solution would be to somehow make it that live entertainers are better buffers than the buffbots. How to do that, I don't know. I would personally not have a problem with buff packs of some variety, whether it take the form of a holorecording or whatever. But, there appears to be a lot of people who don't like that idea...mainly because they'll say they became an entertainer, not a crafter. And, I can certainly understand that viewpoint. And, I understand wanting to preserve the sanctity of keeping entertainers entertainers and not crafters. So, I don't think you'll find a lot of people who will agree with creating buffpacks for entertainers, even though I would personally have no problem with it.
But, there are ideas that float around from time to time in regards to somehow making entertainer buffs better if done live...a popup window for example. But, even that has problems because popups interrupt performance quality. But, it's still worth talking about, because maybe someone, some day might come up with an idea to make our buffs better that garners a lot of support. Anything's possible.

Yes, I know it is possible to have a Doc Bot... but the Doc is pretty much giving away his packs for free...
As an AFK Dancer/Musician Buff Bot, you really have nothing to loose.
See my point?

I seriously think the real answer to our buff bot problem is to change the "tip" income mechanic to a 100% mission based income system.
Like I said in another thread... Add in a box office to each and every theater/cantina and have that be where players pay to see whatever entertainer is inside (buff bot or not). Taking missions would give player entertainers income also be the sole method of healing xp as healing would not be possible without taking the missions. Just like the combat system.

That's not a bad idea. I'd like to see the devs play with this one.

Personally, I would prefer to see Dancer/Musician buffs REQUIRE the use of the /setperform command. This would certainly make botting buffs harder at the very least.

Quite honestly, I don't care WHAT method they use to remove the bots. Giving us resource requirements, removing recursive macros, forcing us to actually dance on a DDR pad to deliver a buff, stand on our head, click our heels and our mouse twice, WHO CARES!
