From the test server...

"Male characters can now go shirtless."

*weeps openly*

And our mind buffs are getting a BIG upgrade! Up to twice the effect for up to 2 hours!

*cheer*

I don't know which change I'm looking forward to more, shirtless guys or the mind buff fix

Hopefully they will also add in a way for us to choose who we buff so we don't have to wait for that feature in another patch.

I didn't see anything about being able to target the buff, so I imagine that's not in this update. I'd be amazed if it were, given that Raven just brought that issue to the table as our #1 only a few days ago.

Even so, with the two changes above, I'm so happy I can barely breathe.

It's nice to know they really are listening, even if it takes time to enact change.

Ooo! On the performer buffs, a request to RavenMist: please go and test this for us and let us know (hopefully) that it doesn't mean we have to perform for people for an hour before they can fight for two hours. Two hours is much better, but needing an hour of downtime before two hours of fighting would be... er... too much.

I had no idea entertainers could buff the mind. Do they buff minds automatically or is it an ability they do on select people? Someone enlighten me.

Anyone who watches a dancer or musician with specific skills (regular entertainer skills don't apply, has to be a dancer or musician) can receive this buff. Dancers apparently buff the mind pool directly, whereas musicians buff the secondary mind stats.

The buff can last up to twice the amount of time you spend watching the entertainer, up to a half hour (currently).

There's much more information on these buffs on the forum here if you do a search.

It's automatic. You /watch the dancer (the higher level the dancer, the better the buff) and after you've finished healing you get a short-termincrease in mind stats. You have to actively /watch the dancer though, and it kicks in after you stop watching.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since June 2004, running one of the game's first completely nonviolent characters. Testing the limits of non-combat MMORPG play and trying to have fun into the bargain (although the developers make it difficult).

Combat is no longer compulsory.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger A lot of players aren't aware of this. Heck, a lot of dancers didn't even know it was there for a while

Right now it applies to anyone who watches a dancer or listens to a musician. The duration is 2x the time watched, with a max of 30 minutes. A master dancer will increase your mind pool by +50%, and it scales down from there based on the dancer's skill. Musicians buff Focus and Willpower, which has both a secondary effect on mind pool and a direct influence on regen rate.

For the rest of you, the Test Server changes thread is 3 pages long. We're not the only ones up for some major loving. Get it at :

They also gave a split tip with group command one of the last things on the list.

This is a nice addition, but let's be honest. Unless I'm performing with close friends, I don't really expect people to use this command to share their tips.

A /tipband command..now THAT would indeed spread the wealth a bit.

I would find it extremely useful when performing gigs or doing a cantina crawl with friends that are dancers and musicians. I'm glad its in there, probably didn't take a lot of work to do it.
