I read the boards daily, and I see the "I can't find an ATK keyboard dancer or musician on Coriella EVER!" about 20 times if not more. And I sit here thinking .. How Hard have you looked for one of us? I have a master dancer and and master musician in Sunset Grove, about 800 north of Coronet. They are there pretty much through out the day, When people come in I greet them I try to talk to them, cause I am ATK. Rarely do I get a tell asking to be buffed. And I dont understand why not, cause Im searchable, maybe the search is not picking me up, I dont know.So again, I ask, when your searching for a master dancer or musician, how hard are you searching? Im not a buff bot by any means, when you enter the cantina and I greet you, those words were freshly typed. I cant even tell you how many times a patron has responded OMG you mean your here?! Yes, Im here. Before I ramble on any more, I'll go. I just had to get this off my chest.

I'm Sorry.. I don't post on the boards that much, but I felt the need to post this thread after reading the thread about the macro thing. Didn't mean to make any one sick..

I agree.. only time it can be a problem finding the atk dancer is a few mins after server restart...

Makes me wonder where those people have been searching.. tip use /find cantina and it should not be hard to find one

Orelse use the ingame search for profession.

We were discussing this on Bria last night. There was about a dozen entertianers in the club (all masters either on Bria or another server) and not a single one of us could remember the last time someone sent us a /tell asking for a buff. Perhaps the search function has become nerfed or bugged somehow . . . it would figure, of course. Everything else about the ent prof has some problem *rolls eyes* .

Still . . . what is so terribly hard about looking on the forums, clicking the threads that give the names and servers of masters willing to buff and then writing their names down? Tsk . . . kids these days - everything is SOOOO much work . . .

I do wonder whether the search function has some strict geographic limits, though. I did a Musician search last night at prime time when I knew other Musicians were online. I only found two. Maybe the search function needs broadening?

Also, /register needs to be fixed, soonest.

I think your right, I mean for instance you could do a serach for a dancer that could say be right in front of you, and the dancer does not show up in the search.

And yes it would be nice to have /register fixed.

here's my feelings on it, in response to this posting someone made in the 'correspondents' feedback thread:

I think it is absolutely irresponsible of SOE to force this change to accomodate such a small population...
Not only will it cause (at least) a inconvenience for the rest of us, but the NON AFK entertainers are not populous enough to support the heavy gamers who tend to be combatants.
Most of us are just fiine and dandy with an afk'r or a buff bot.

/sigh;
/macro herewegoagain;
/respondpost forum.professsions.dancer;
/forum.professions.dancer response 1 the main reason for the removal is to remove AFK play across ALL professions;
/forum.professions.dancer response 2 play in out of the way places, expect to have to hunt to fufill your needs (be it resources, power, doctors, or entertainers) or PLAN AHEAD and take an entertainer in your group;
/forum.professions.dancer response 3 AFK play of many professions means its not just the entertainer professions being harmed by the availability of AFK play;
/forum.professions.dancer response 4 AFK play and buffbots by their existence train new folks entering the entertainer professions to think the profession is SUPPOSED to be AFK
/forum.professions.dancer response 5 new combat players used to AFK entertainers don't know to go to live players because they don't know the difference
/forum.professions.dancer response 6 lack of life in cantina due to previlence of AFK bots and combat players ignoring ATK players means New Players Are Less Likely To Stay Around To Fulfill The Needs of Combat Players leading to a spiral of profession death in healing BF and buffing;
/forum.professions.dancer response 7 macros will still exist, you'll still be able to f-key, and devs have already been in discussions to get ideas on solutions for crafting, smuggling FP buying, and a host of other things.. the appropriate venue for this feedback is on TH's thread in the 'in development' forum;
/forum.professions.dancer reponse 8 eight eight I forgot what eight is for;
/sigh;

/endpost;
/macro herewegoagain; (just cause you knew it was coming... )

I remember getting ready for Cantina Crawl VII in The Fifth River cantina on Corellia when I got a tell from someone who needed BF and mind healed and was willing to pay. This was from a city about 3km from where we were. I had my suspisions but went. Sure enough, I healed bf and mind, got a few pieces of free clothing and 20k!

So, it seems that the search function does work, and over some distance. Weird that people have trouble using it

People dont ask you for buffs because there are buff bots for that. How many hundreds of can you buff me tells can you recieve before you remove your tag and make yourself unsearchable? Youll find out as soon as this patch goes live I guess.

I wonder that too. Once I got a tell from someone clear on the other side of the planet. That was easily 8km away. I asked them how they knew me and they said they searched. *shrug*

Gee, it couldn't be a bug could it??

And yes, FIX REGISTER PLEASE!

And, why can't I register in a cantina BUILT by a Rebel or Imperial if I'm neutral?!?
