Thread: Paying for 2 hour buffs

But....I get less than 2 hour buffs quite a bit, even though I do what I am asked by the master dancer/musician.
I then have to wait for the lesser buff to wear off before getting a new one.
How do you all handle this? rebates? tip after done?
I want to do the right thing....but being buffed for 45 minutes when I am about to head out on a raid or hunt is almost useless.
Thanks!

Ask them to group buff you instead of set perform, this clears up a lot of problems.
Or if you keep getting the problem, ask an entertainer whom youve gotten good buffs from to send his/her macro to youand pass it around to those that dont seem to be able to complete a buff.

Actually, I've had just as many nonbuffs happen in grouped situation as setperformed ones. At least with setperform I have some form of control over the application of the buff - abeit, it is still very little.
A few patches ago we were bugged. You can't /watch adancer and /listen to a musician and get simultanious buffs presently. Even if you are not getting buffed by the other entertainer, you still can ONLY /watch OR /listen (meaning you have to watch a dance with no music at all - sigh). The devs are aware of the problem but we have no idea as to when this will be fixed.
Another bug: you can't craft, meditate or even trade while getting a buff. Doing so will negate the buff completely or reduce its duration. I'd go so far as to say you don't want to do much of anything. Sad but true. Oh, well -you might be able to do a bug report!
We also have no time frame on the fix for this either.
Make certain you are watching a MASTER dancer or musician. Make sure they know how many flos it takes to establish a 2 hour buff and that they adjust their buff time if they have to stop for healing, etc during the buff. You must /watch or /listen for a minimum of 2 minutes to get a buff of any duration and no less than 3 minutes 20 seconds to get a 2 hour buff with a master who flos 120 times within that time frame. They can take longer (and will if they don't have a quickness buff or accarragm or someone around to keep them healed), but all successfulbuffs require 120 flos or more.
Also follow your musician's or dancer's instructions. Unequip your weapon so they can tell that you are watching or listening by your clap. If you feel uncomfortable about this, you can always sit down after. Be sureyou target the buffer andTYPE/watch or /listen before they /setperform and be sure to TYPE /stopw or /stopl when they tell you to - not before. If you are grouped for the buff, make sure you watch or listen for a minimum of 4 minutes (longer would be better).
If you still find yourself getting 45 minute buffs, you will want to notify customer support - most likely you are bugged. We had a former guildmate who couldn't get buffs at all because his character was bugged, so it happens.
Hope this helps some!

Ever since I learned the proper way to buff, I've never once given a partial buff. I think that lies with your entertainer not knowing what he/she is doing. However, I have had buffs fail many times. Usually its due to the patron watching or listening to someone else at the same time, which is a bug. Sometimes, they simply don't take, which is also a bug. Either way, if the buff fails, I ask them if they'd like to try again. If they say yes, I'll redo it. If they say no, I give a full refund.
If there comes a time where I only give a partial buff for some reason, and it's not the fault of the customer, then I would also offer a full refund. A partial buff, in my opinion, is just as bad as a failed buff. Actually, it might even be worse, because with a failed buff you get a do over without having to wait 45 minutes. So, definitely, full refund.
That's what I do anyways.

If you've never gotten a good buff without a bot though...then you're either doing something that interferes with the active buff, or you've not used more than 3 live entertainers.
Til I dont see how you can make that assumption. There are a lot of entertainers out there that dont know how to buff properly.
And I stated I have gotten good buffs from ATK players, but it was a group buff. I have never recieved a good buff from /setperform.
