Right, but most Masters have some idea of what they're doing if they're doing an active buff. And fail rates aren't as high as you would make them out to be. For a period, I was experiencing something like a 30% fail rate, but never close to 100%

This is your personal buffing experience, perhaps if I went to you everytime I wouldnt have problems with the /setperfom buffing.

But you and advanced entertainers like you arent always available, and how do I tell the good entertainers from the bad before I get a bad buff?

You've had dancing experience, right? If you don't get the full buff, teach the offending party how to do it right. Hehe. I do it all the time. I'm like, look, I'm a master dancer, I only got a 45 minute buff from you, take this accaragm, memorize this macro, and do it right.

Sounds harsh, but it kinda annoys me how many people don't know how to do it right.

Yes I should do that but I have a hard time being so blunt with people in game, especially after I just enjoyed their company. I usually stay longer than the required buffing time to finish my conversations with them, so I feel bad for saying anything less than thank you

I think most entertainers will agree that passive buffs tend to work more often, Milandra.

If you've never gotten a good buff without a bot though...then you're either doing something that interferes with the active buff, or you've not used more than 3 live entertainers.

I would be one of the ones to completely disagree with you here.I've hadfar too manyfailed buffs in group (where out of, say, 10 people, 2 didn't received the buff) to accept your "experience" as across-the-board fact. On the other hand, most of my directed buffs take.

BTW, I have no hard numbers on this, but I've found that, for myself, the number of failed buffs (either directed or passive) my patrons have experiencedhas decreased in the past several weeks. Anyone else notice that, or am I imagining things?

Yes, but were those 2 out of 10 following directions? I've only had one group buff go bad in the few months I've been a Dancer. Nearly all of my bad buffs have been through active buffs.

About how many buffs do you hand out daily? My avoidance may be due more to the fact that business is slower for a male dancer...

Anyhow, I've seen a drop in fails lately.... I'm trying to think back, but you're right, I don't recall having any active buffs fail in the past 20 or so activebuffs. Either people are learning what they need to do for a successful buff, or the devs added a piece of code for the jedi that somehow fixed some of our problems

I seem to have had more reliability with /setperf actually. If I'm group buffing I like to be in control of the group. I don't let someone else invite me into their group. I want to make sure that people get in only if they pay me, etc. And, I think that sometimes when I invite others to group while mid-buff, that somehow "kills" the first buff that I'm performing. More often than not, the first person to come into my group is the one that doesn't get the buff and we have to do over.

Oh, see, I've never not been in control of a group. That could be it right there.

I dont think thats it, buffbots are never the group leader.

For my personal experience, I mean. I've never had a group buff go wrong (aside from once) probably because I've always been in control. Letting somebody else run the group increases the likelihood that they'll screw it up, not me. I already know it's usually not me borking the thing...

Perhaps someone as experienced as you could create a macro and email it to the new entertainers with all the downsides and advantages of different kind of buffs. Adding, as well, the main reasons buffs go bad.

I havent buffed anyone in so long I dont have all the info I would need to do it with confidence.
