Thread: How long did it take you to become Master Dancer?

My secondary character is currently a Master Weaponsmith/Master Doctor, but I'm considering dropping Weaponsmith in favor of Master Dancer. I can't want to be a super buffer!

Asking around, I've heard that it has taken almost a month (!)AFK-Dancing 24/7 to Master Dancer. Longer, if they didn't do it AFK. What are your experiences?

I still haven't mastered (4-4-4-2.9) and that is with plenty of afk nights.
Although I figure it could be done in a week easy with the help of a good combat medic.

I've been playing since Valcyn went up, and I'm still only 3-2-4-4. I playeda LOT starting out, but since my son was born I'm lucky to get an hour a night in, and maybe two on weekends. I have other activities besides dancing, yes, but they don't take the great majority of my time. I don't AFK macro, so that will account for some of my slowness.

Making matters worse for you now are the new changes to the death system- Entertainment Healing XP is now a royal pain to get, and you can't reliably macro it either. You're in for a very long haul, I'm afraid.

I used a macro and was online as much as the servers would allow. It took me 1 week and 1 day. the last 3 days were getting healing xp only. If you can get a volunteer and a combat medic, DO IT! it will save you alot of time. Combined it took 160-175 hours. Hope thats what you were looking for.

I've been playing a dancer/entertainer since July 29 of this year. She is right now, 4-2-3-4 in Dance, and 3-4-4-4 in Entertainer.

I do not AFK macro. I log in for a couple of hours a night, 3 nights a week (or so) and for longer periods on weekends.

Personally the speed of advance has been just fine for me. I guess if I didn't have a 2nd (and now 3rd, ack) character, she'd have hit Master right around now.

Well with moderate play time, as well as RP, I was able to get master dancer in about 4-6 weeks, with exactly no AFK time spent.

That sounds pretty much like me, I had Dancer Mastered within about a month after release if I remember right. I know there was only a couple that hit master before me but I honestly can't remember how long it took. I did not AFK macro either, I just spent way more time playing then I should have, hehe. Of course you have to keep in mind that unlike most entertainers today I had to pay for all my training from the NPC's pretty much so I had to spend a lot of time running delivery missions to pay for my skills. (I got pretty good tips compared to most people but first few weeks of the game everyone was broke.) So umm.. honestly I can't remember how long it took me.. but a month sounds about right.

Okay.. just went back about 30 pages or so on the boards and found one of my earlier posts as a Correspondant. The first top 5 list I did dated 7-24-03. I wrote that a couple days after I hit master so I guess it only took me about 3 weeks, not 4 from what I can tell, which is about the best you can do ATK. I know one girl hit master about a week before me, think she was all ATK too but all she did those two weeks was dance, eat and sleep. (and probably ate at keyboard, hehe)

As I recall it took me a little over 3 weeks of constant playing...I should preface this with I had just quit my job and struggle w/ terrible bouts of insomnia, coupled with the fact that I don't have any kids I played waaaay to much.

Also things were a bit different, people were actually fighting out of Kaadara and it was a busy city, normally had groups of 7-15 dancers/musicians every night , the only time I was forced to leave Kaadara and go on the road was to finish the last two boxes of healing exp I needed.

*giggle* I used to always hear Dang Caly you are always here !!

Btw all my time was non-afk and that's probably why I have so many folks on my friends list, can recommend who to see for tailoring, housing, spices and just general info.

*hugs*

My character is also a Carbineer so she goes out "into the field" a lot. Also, I roleplay a lot in ways that have nothing to do with any xp whatsoever. So it has taken months, but I have been relaxed about it. Dejah dances when it is IC for her to dance, and when it isn't... she doesn't.

But then, I am in no rush. Unlike, apparently, 99% of the other dancers out there, all of whom seem just desperate to get to Master and get it NOW.

about a week and a half -- of almost total 24/7 dancing ... going to take longer to get healing exp now though with less people dualing and getting wounded though because of decay
