Thread: Attention: Improving entertainer and audience interaction

In our discussions to find a way to enhance the experience for entertainers, dancers, musicians and the people whose battle fatigue they are healing, this potential solution came up. I know similar things have been discussed in the community and I wanted to get your feedback.
For the time being, leave everything as it is right now, except add a new feature for entertainers. If I go into a cantina and there's a macro entertainer there and a "real" entertainer there, the player chooses which one they want to actively listen/watch. I can, if I want, just watch the guy macroing and heal myself up, which takes, let's say for example, 5 minutes.
But if I start watching the real guy that's there, I get a message in a little box that says "Tell the Entertainer to do flourish 7” and the player says, “Hey, can you do flourish 7?" The entertainer says, "Sure.", does flourish 7, and the player gets a big bonus to the healing, the entertainer gets experience for the extra healing effect and now the player only had to hang out in the cantina for two minutes instead of 5 minutes. There was some interaction, the player was able to do something besides stand there and everybody's a little happier.
In the future that player will come back to the cantina and say, "Hey that's the cool dancer that did flourishes for me." The player will be healed, the entertainer will dance and the experience is improved and hopefully the dancer will get a great tip.
Do you like this sort of approach?
For those who haven't seen it, please go post your response in the In Concept thread. Yes, they are really asking.

I don't do it of my own free will. But I've got this dance partner who likes to call itwhen he's needingrevenge sometimes.

AFK by itself isn't the problem, the buffbots are. Please fix this.Working onit!
And, I would encourage all the other entertainers out there who have a similar story to tell every day to post it here so that we can show the extent of our problem. Oh goodness please don't right now.Old Panthu might go right over the edge (you know my B-day is in two more days). I've got books worth of nightmare stories, I have plenty to show the Devs... besides, they are pretty much getting it now I think. We just have to help them find ways to fix it that we like.
I've just spent most of the night in a pre-CB meeting... I think we've got some new proposals you guys are going to like a lot.
If even half of these get approved, we will have many ways to out perform AFK buff bots as a Live Dancer in the Healing/Buffing arena. I can't say whether or not AFK Bots will ever go away, but I do for the first time think we have some ways that will make it not such a big deal for us.
I'll keep you guys posted, but I think this In Concept thread of TH's was a great foot in the door even if it's not the right answer for us. Over all, support for Ents is very high right now in the Corr Forum and I am very excited about that. ![]()
