Any reason why this can't be used in the Dathomir, and I'm guessing the other adventure world, cantinas?
It would be nice to show that someone's in them without having to spam /shouts

/register doesn't work for me on Tatooine, forget about Dantooine.
I've mentioned this to the devs in the past, but not recently. Time to bug them again.

Any idea if it works for medics in the med centers? Might be something they'd like fixing too.

This needs to be addressed soon, and possibly before any removal of recursive macros takes place. Panthu, has there been any discussion of the difficulty of such a step? I recognize the fact that buff coding is intricate work, but the default cantina classification on the world map should not be too difficult to look at...
(Tiaga and NewJedi, feel free to respond as well
I realize you're on these boards rather frequently.)

Thanks for the reminder.
Last time I talked to TH, the response I got was after JTL. I just pinged him again, maybe with the new developments we might be able to press to get these things fixed.

Yeah, /register is on our top-five list, and the informal indication from the devs has been "after JTL." But I agree that it's taken on a new urgency now. Time to bug TH about it again.
I'd also like to see the geographic range of the Search function increased. Is there any way to Search for someone off planet now? Or even someone on the other side of the planet? I rarely use it myself, but it seems like a potentially powerful finding aid.

As far as I can tell, the Search function is STILL limited only to the immediate surrounding sector. Half of a planet, at best. One-fourth at worst.

I ran a test on this last night on Shadowfire. I was on Tatooine at 8pm and did a search for Musician, Dancer, Entertainer and got zero results. I then started through a few of the tags. Ditto. So, I went to Bestine and found four dancers, stood less than 10 meters from them and did the same searches,. Still nothing.
I would say something is broken.

I do wonder if people know they have to MAKE their character searchable in the Player Interface for the Search function to even potentially work. That box is very small and down at the bottom of the page . . . very easy to overlook.

First question: Did you ask to see if they were set to /anonymous?
Second question: Did you expect anything better?

The search function would appear to simply look at the output from /who. The /who command is basically useless in that it just gives up after it has reported the first 32 players it comes across. I don't know what order /who lists players in, but it always serves up the AFKers first it seems. Also, some dancers and musicians turn on their anonymous setting because, much as they don't like to add to the whole "I can't find a dancer/musician to buff me" problem they also don't like to get misspelled tells from people that say "buff plz". Just some thoughts.
Also, if someone's going to try to get them to fix the player cantina registration bug (whith should be one of the easiest fixes to make in the entire history of the game), remember to remind them to fix registration for player med centers as well.
