I really can't see the point of holding off on such a simple yet important change. Not sure why it hasn't been done yet. That's why I asked

Glad to hear it's not just me having trouble with the Search function. Off to bug the devs about it now.

lol no kidding, I was so excited about that stealth fix ![]()
I have never had a problem with the ctrlP search for other professions in the same area, is it possible it is only entertainers that are bugged?

No, not really Milandra.
When you do a Search of the immediate area, it's the same as typing /who. /who only yields 32 results, no matter what. That means 300 players could be near Theed, but only 32 show on the /who.
Search most likely uses the /who results and looks within that list for players that fit the category listed. So if none of the 32 out of 300 are entertainers, no entertainers will show up on the search (even though there's a cantina full of them 200m away). At least, this is how we believe it works.

aaaahhhh. Meaning ifall of them are tagged with an entertainer tag and are not annonymous the 32 would show up?
Or is there another bug Im not aware of?

I would like to begin with an appology to the entertainer community as a whole. On Valcyn I am a crazed combat junky who has used a buffbot on many occasions andhave used an AFK entertainer without tipping if no live entertainer is available.
My daughter is a Dancer on Flurry and resently I have started a Musician on Corbantis as a stress releaver so I hadbeen enducated onall the protest and did not care but now with the /register fixed I thought I could be a good boy and enjoy live entertainment. WRONG. People we need to get the word out that /register works. For the last 4 nights I have looked for a registered entertainer on Tantooine / Valcyn and I have found 2. One was a Buffbot and the other was in a cantina of a city I am banned from
. I see the same on Flurry and Corbantis, no one is useing it. Have I just missed it? Am I wrong? If you want the buffbots to go away, make the player city cantinas viable again and advertise and remind people of this function. Educate the ignorant masses !!! We now have no one to blame but ourselves.
IGN: Ikeeg on Corbantis, in case you want to beat on me.
/rantoff
I feel much better now.

Whenever I play I occasionally put out a message on planet/auction chat reminding people of /register and that it actually works now. Eventually word will spread and people will realize that the sun/moon does actually mean something useful.

Yes, on the servers where I usually play it is not being used "enough"..yet..please give it a little time. A vast majority of the player base doesn't follow the forums and the changes to the entertainerprofessions. We're getting the word out and educating entertainers and combatters alike on how to use /register (most players I've spoken with regarding this, since the fix, had no idea it existed & had not read the patch notes)but I think it will be at least a week or two after the holidays that an effective majority understands it and gets in the habit of using it.
