has anyone had any problems with a dancer stallker. A dancer friend of mine has a guy who comes in and spends most of his day watching her dance. She is high up as a dancer and has the exotic dances. This guy has even bought a droid and is trying to program it to protect her. She has no idea who this guy is in real life. Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope, not yet. I just get the usual name calling and whatnot. And if he's sitting there just watching her dance...

1) Ignore him, since he's probably crafting. If he's not doing anything to harass her or anything it wouldn't bother me, since we get experience from people watching. If he's building a droid to protect her, more power to hiim, it's his money.

2) If he starts to cause problems, move to another cantina and put him on your /addingore list and subit a ticket with ticket with his name. I've done that..and someone that used to come in all the time and harass us dancers/musicians hasn't been seen/heard from since.

Just my 2 cp.

I hate the friends list option where you can be added to anyone's list with out knowing it, and they can find out your online status, your location etc... with out your permission. It's a perfect set up for those that enjoy stalking other people.

If I were her I'd confide in a male character she can trust and who doesn't care about marital status in game and do a quickie marriage and have her tell the guy, "I got married last night ook at my ring!". Keep it all in game, and offer for him to meet the new husband. Have the new husband play the protective type.

She could always enlist lots of guy friends to do the same thing as this guy, every time he shows up so do they.... and they can be like "dude are you stalking her?? We always see you in here when you don't need to be".

Ifat any time shegets a "hinky" feeling over it, she needs to switch her chat box to timestamp option (where it shows the time when things are said) and ask him to back off because his passion/obsession for her is making her uncomfortable on many levels. She needs to take screen shots of this as well.

If he flips out at her requests to back off andshe gets creeped out she can report him, and the time stamps and screen shots helps CSR's know exactly where to go for the logs, and can address the situation faster that way.

Also, if she is disturbed by it be sure she gives out ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about her RL. No name, no state she lives in etc... and the same rule applies on forums, no personal info. You never know the mental state of someone on the other end of the computer or how far they are willing to take the situation. Just be careful.

When he comes in to watch, I'd switch to dances with no erotic moves... lol If he says anything she can say "I'm tired of those dances, I want to do these instead." He can't force her to do what she doesn't want to do in front of him... she's in control of her character and noone else.

If it goes to far, don't feel bad about reporting it for them to look into it.

If it's really nothing then no harm done but if it is a legitimate concern, they will take care of it... that's what they are paid to do.

Well you could do it in a more "game" friendly way.

There are bounty hunters, pehaps another client would do you a favor and leave a non-harrassing but fatal message for him?

Have the entertainers hire a bouncer, TKA artist to explain the situation to him in roleplay.

Find a smuggler type, they usually have a grouping of ... colorful people that can surround the guy and suggest that you are dancing for them and not him.

Have a master fencer or riflemen to duel him for your honor.

Email him and say if he doesn't stop you will be forced to go to the authorities or ask someone to stop him and any clone coming after him.

If he doesn't get the hint or rise to the occasion with roleplay and apologies or ooc explanations, then report him.

I have experienced some of this too though no one has been that creepy to me yet. I have had some problems with people wanting to get to know me better, date me, whatever and when I tell them I'm involved with someone they no longer want to watch me to talk to me.

I think of it as a job you know, like dancers offline you do the dance, flirt and make the guy feel special. They shouldn't expect anything in return but entertainment.

How do you get married in game?

You can find out a person's location? I've never figured out how to do this.

I've probably had3 or4 different players stalk me, claiming they were "in love" with me or else just being far too smothering and attentive for my own comfort. I mean, I'm married in RL, why would I want a husband to take care of in SWG too? And, yes, I realize my toon is gorgeous - that's how I built her, but she is NOT real.

I've handled each of them differently. The first guy had some obvious problems - if I told him I wasn't in my usual cantina but had moved to Naboo, he accused me of avoiding him. If I had plans for the night (which was usual) and he couldn't talk me into spending the night staring at the moon at Lake Retreat, he got upset. I don't know how many times I tried to steer him back to a platonic relationship, but it only made him madder. Finally he just gave up and took up with another dancer who was only too happy to play kissy-kiss as long as he gave her outfits and cash.

I'm a very independent, strong-willed type of person. I hate being smothered worse than anything else I can think of. I'm not adverse to friendly flirtation in game, but there is a line over which I will not cross. It's important to be clear about that line, but even then it only works if they want to listen to you. Sometimes it just takes getting mad at them, possibly embarrassing them in public to get them to go away.

I don't think any profession outside of Dancer really sees the sad part of online life like we do, where people with no social skills offline try to act out their fantasies in a game. Not a thing wrong with fantasy, but that sexy dancer you see writhing around in a flesh wrap is made up of pixels and polygons, YOU CAN'T HAVE HER!

By the way, you can set a lot of things to anonymous under CTRL P. Too bad we can't also just have an /anon switch so nobody can look for us.

Just a note: Make sure that you have given him plenty of warning. If you up and /report someone without telling him why, I'm sure Customer Support won't feel inclined to intervene. Sometimes, the harasser isn't aware of how uncomfortable he's making the person. Such people may feel that if you're not threatening to boil their bunnies, then it's not harassment.

I don't know if you want to actually talk to him about it, but don't /report him until he has refused to acknowledge your request.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.

Have her tell him that she is a guy in RL. That'll end it right quick.

Or better yet do what I do, have a male dancer, I have never been sexually harrassed. Of course I never get tips either.

Bounty hunter, since the days we had to master marksmen and scout and investigation three missions where worth 129 investigation exp and the mark was never there. Plus there were no mounts or bikes, we walked damnit! And we liked it (well, not really, barely made enough money to cover shuttle costs and keep the equipment in good order)

Move to Rori, there are very few entertainers there so people tip well if you dance for them and they're real greatful, also if you're imperial get an overt imperial friendwith faction pets to start guarding you. I'm working my way towards three dark troopers and I generally act as a bouncer for the entertainers in the hotel/cantina I'm at to ensure no one hassels them.

No body expects a female scoutto pose a threat to them till you challenge them to a duel and take half their mind bar away in one shot.
