Thread: Would be nice to buff in the starports too
It would give my droid a purpose and would justify my having paid 40k for it.

I would like to be able to buff whenever or wherever I pull out my droid.
I'm sorry, maybe I'm just overtired, but that just sounds nasty... lol
Okay, getting my mind out of the gutter for a second...
I find I often dance while waiting for shuttles... after all it gives me something to do while I wait and earns a few dancing XP. Being able to buff/heal while doing so would be a plus, but I can certainly continue to live without it.

right, yeah. So the buff bots can park themselves inside Coronet startport and no live entertainer would ever see another customer again.

Let's not let Buff Bots keep us from asking for something that would enhance ourLive gameplay. The Bots are supposedly on the way out now that the Devs have decided they don't like them.
A far greater concern will be how we Live Ents can compete with any form of notLive Ent healing, whether it comes in the current form of Buff Bots or future not live "solutions" to the "lack of Entertainers" like Cantina NPCs that heal or other such not Live and active Ent Player Involved "solutions" that have been proposed.
I believe thatwe will be able to have more Live Play options with some active duty options and greatly enhanced control over our Dancing with new DanceTools such as those on our Performance Enhancement list and shorter Animations like kicks, turns, andleaps that could be worked into a variety of Dance routines for a unique look every time. ![]()
Besides, this would clear up the Cantina floors for real shows again...
Sadly, the people who have responded have it correct. While I would love to be able to buff and heal in the starport, take a look at what doctors have become. I don't want to wake up in a world where all the grinding ents have moved to the starport and no one enters the cantinas again.

Ok SmartyPantsDancer 1 and 2, those are valid concerns and not ruled by the fear of Buff Bots.*shrug* They are still some what caught up with what other players are doing with their account which I never like to see influencing what we're asking to have, but, eh, whatever.
But you have to take things like this into consideration. I'd be willing to bet my lekku that if people could buff and heal in starports that everyone would go there. Seriously. Cantina dancing, healing, and buffing would no longer exist. All you need to do to see that is go into half the Cantinas that already have 95% of the entertainers in the front room and nobody on the main floor. That's as close as they can get to the starport right now, hehe. And, we just have to keep the behavior of the playerbase in mind before agreeing to something. If it happens, I probably won't be all pissed off about it or anything. But, geez, I just *know* it's going to be bad, bad, bad. The starports are going to be even laggier and spammier than they already are. The cantinas will be empty. I am kind of sad that I never have any reason to go to a med center anymore.
I'm not sure what to do to get us out of this cycle of "other players don't like how inconvenient we are so they make arrangements to skip us" then "we hate the arrangements they've made to skip us so we don't do our jobs at all anymore." bleh
We need a way to make money. We need a way to interact with other players. We need a way to be able to do these things while RPing a Dancer. We need further Dance Tools so we can have a creative outlet and share this experience with other players in the hope that we will be able to "Entertain" as our base Prof name implies.
I think we could still meet those requirements with anytime/anywhere or extended area Ent Healing. I also think we could do it with Area Heals and Buffs as long as we were given other ways to make money as well.
I agree, I'm open to a lot of possibilities I think. I like the camps idea for BF, I like the holovideos idea because that's money directly in *our* pockets as opposed to NPC, and would free up time for us to entertain and do other things. And, as I said in many posts before, if they took buffs away from us but gave us another way that allowed us to make money I'd be okay with that too. The point is, as you say, we need a way to make money. I agree. But, what I'm not "buying," I guess, is that our lack of locations to buff is in any way part of the problem. That, coupled with the fact, that the starports are already a colossal mess make me not to keen on the idea. That, and I want people to actually be in the Cantinas. At least with the holovideos idea, we still have incentives for up and coming entertainers to go to the Cantinas. If we can buff and heal in the starports, that's where people will be, I have no doubt in my mind about it.We need to find a happy medium that both makes people happy, but doesn't take away from the Cantinas.
Besides all of that, I find myself even more open minded than before (which was already pretty open) now that the possibility of NPC Dancers in the non-Player Cantinas that we would see no benefit from is lurking in the background.
You keep alluding to NPC dancers, and you're making me worried.
I think I agree with you fundamentally that any and all healing, buffing, xp, credits, etc. should go to a *real* player, no matter what the scenario is. And, I have definitely posted about how I think many entertainers are not exactly looking at the big picture and are being *far* too stringent in their viewpoints, and unwilling to make some compromises for the combat folks. I think we should really try to be coming up with more ideas that will benefit us directly, instead of being stringent and seeing these NPC's come about as the solution. But, I just am not too fond of the starport buffing thing.

Ummm, but you can buff in the starports. I've done it, although it was admittedly random and inconsistent.I was in a group of overts one time that was in a starport, and didn't want to go out to the cantina so I tried to buff the group in the starport terminal area (with the ticket machines), and one or two members of the group got a buff, and the rest didn't. I tried it again and got another one or two, but still others didn't get it. Dunno why it did or didn't work, but there ya go. You can buff in a starport...
SWEET!
I am trying this tonight, YEAH!
