So last night we were trying to find a way for everyone in our band to get a fair share of the tips. Most seem to go to me and the female musician. I looked at the group help screen and it said to use /autosplit on or group autosplit on, or something similar. Anyways, i tyoed it in and nothing. no split no error, no nothing.

anyone know of a fair and easy way that my group can automatically split the tips as they come in?

Maybe if we ask the dev's they'll put it into place. BUt on the other hand some lower levels might not get accept into the band. But they might not get tips anyways.

Autosplit only works for looting, and that's even if they fixed it. It was broken for a while.

I have often talked about autosplit tip in my cantina because I definitely see a disparity of tip heading my and the other female dancers way. Certainly remember thoughthat if you have newer performers in the group teach them to be an entertainer and nto just someout on the dance floor. Personally I think they need to see us interact with the patrons and then they can earn bigger tips....

I'm not completely sold on this idea.

What if you have a dancer in there just standing to the side/in a back room, not interacting with someone, and who technically isn't "working" for their tips.

Then you have group members out there working with patrons, truely entertaining customers, greeting them, wishing them well as the leave etc...

Who deserves the tips??? In my eyes it's the one doing all the work not the one standing back letting them doing it.

It's the same issue I have with free training someone at every level and not doing anything to help towards the cost.

Free loading irks me and if auto split was activated then I'd just ask my patrons to start trading windows instead.

I work hard enough as it is to get the few tips I do, I'm not about to start sharing it with someone who's not working for it, or even worse someone who's in the group but out in battlefields fighting and just using groupmode to chat with their girlfriends over stupid stuff noone else wants to read (that's the newest thing in our cantina I'm based out of).

I am all for it IF all members are in the cantina, all members of the group are actively working with patrons and noone it playing anti social Patty in the corner with her thumb up her butt.

So it varies group to group on if I would want this to be an option.

What I do..if I get a large about of a tip, I look and see who's afk in my group. And I split it among the people not afk.

Actually, i was thinking as option that could be turned on and off. We have a regular band where everyone is always doing their best but people will usually tip the girls rather than the wookie playing the fizz who has just sung you a song. But then there are situations where i am grouped for convenience with someone who is AFK and i would not want to split.

I agree that ther is no need for an autosplit option for the group. There are many times that i have come in to a cantina join someones group for a bit and work hard while half the group is just sitting round afk.

Now if you are consistently in a group with some dancers/musicians im sure that tipping just occures. People end up sharing tips or just giving some cash to a fellow musician in the group if they need the cash.

Tipping should really be up to the tipper. If a person is working extremely hard then they should get the tip for they earned it. It is as simple as that. Now i really think that there should be an option that should allow the tipper to choose who to tip. If they want to tip the group then use the /tipgroup command, if they felt someone should earn a lil extra then tip that person a lil extra with just the basic /tip command.

I really feel that there should be a tip group option because it just keeps the whole situation realistic. The tipper gets to choose if they just want to give the cash to a person who is working there butt off, or to the group that is really working well together.

You know, I think if its an option that can be turned off, then its fine. But quite honestly, I can count on one hand the number of times I have danced in a public cantina without at least one band member afk for a considerable amount of time.

So, most of the time, I would turn the option off. This would hurt the male dancers and musicians that are not afk...but I find it tedious to split 100 credit tips everytime they come in. Not only do I have to ask to see who is afk or not, but I have to then figure out how many there are, calcuate the amount and divy it up, all the time not paying attention to what is going on in the room. Its really a bother. If a stranger gives me a specially large tip, I would divide it among the non-afkers.

However, I would like auto-split when I play with a small group of friends or in an arranged band. Although, I can always put all my money in the bank before the gig and just divy it up at the end of the night.

So really...I doubt most really active players would use auto-split. Those that go afk might...and those that don't want to talk or chat with customers might. But the ones that work the crowd and write original songs deserve the tips, in my honest opinion. And I have seen some great songs and some wonderful attentive entertainers.

Yes, it hurts the male dancers most of all. But sadly, in a game environment where most of the players are men, this is a fact. I really doubt you will gain much from autosplit anyway, because the more popular gals will turn if off to avoid tipping the afkers and mega-macroers. I really doubt this is an issue that can be helped with an auto-split feature.

And if its not toggable, which seems very unlikely, I would probably not join the groups anymore. Yes, less xp, but honestly, I often need the tips more than the xp. And in large groups with lots of xp, the tips are not great unless you are a regular at that cantina.

Personally, I really have gotten out of the "I need tips to make a living" mode. When SWG first came out, all the dancers in my cantina every once and a while would remind patrons to tip us. Now we just perform, we all have our own ways of earning needed cash whether its through crafting or missions. Rarely do I see an entertainer try to "make a living off tips" because not everyone tips and most tips arent sufficient. Otherwise you'd see So-and-so tipped you 70 credits..... Autosplit: Everyone in the group was tipped 10 credits.

It's late and I'm tired so this won't be long but...

I think the band tip should be an option to the person tipping. Maybe they liked the whold band nd they want everyone to benifit that's great. But sometimes they like one person and they talk to that persona and /watch that person. They should be able to tip just that person if they deem it so. Also people can easily give money to friends who might need it by /tip. I don't want my boyfriend walking up to me /tip 5000 and then /group split you get 400. Thanks but no thanks.

Likeet... the guys who are out in the field using group chat to chat with their girlfriends... tell them to set up a private chat room using the chat channel browser. Keeps it out of your earshot then!

I like Kurda's idea myself. I also agree I would not like having to share all tips with people afk and such,I work hard to be as good as I am and If I get more tips because of that work its only fair I think.
