Thread: Tip Autospliting
Likeet... the guys who are out in the field using group chat to chat with their girlfriends... tell them to set up a private chat room using the chat channel browser. Keeps it out of your earshot then!
They were asked nicely to leave the group as others were in there who needed the slot. The clique then decided to call the person asking spoiled, and various other names and broke the group up from the current leader then made another group excluding the people against them sitting in chat and not being in there.
That pretty much locked out the near master musicians/entertainers/dancers.
It was quickly realized a big mistake because they couldn't get the same XP with out them because with out light shows they aren't the ones being watched, with out being the ones playing the music they didn't get good group XP because people watched the high end musicians not the one off key.
The revolt was short but the point was made. The high end musicians decided to leave anyway as they were done with cantina work.
Three people stayed and the ones causing the trouble had left for greener pastures because the cantina suddenly "sucked".
I will say this group were as close to undie dancers as they could get, with onelaughing in chat about "every time my mom leaves the room I put on my daisy dukes, and short shirt she keeps coming back in and getting mad I'm wearing them and makes me change into real clothes but dad is againsther and staying in the room when I play so I can wear what ever I want"
They were openly vulgar in chat about rude customers who didn't tip... well they did tip, just not them. *chuckles*
These are the type of players that make me thankful there is no auto split feature on in a group when I play with this type of person. If there was I'd spam with something like "auto split feature on please tip me through trade instead or don't tip me at all" hehe
Not only that but at times I stop dancing and make clothes for the other entertiners. To pay me they occasinally just send it as a /tip because I give them the clothes to try one first. If they like it then I tell them just to tip whatever they think the clothes are worth.
I only do this with entertainers however, and I typically dont make anything over Novice Tailor for /tip. If it goes above that then I start saying that its going to be so and so ammount. If they really like it some of them tip on top of that. The 'so-and-so amount' is usually half of what I would charge a non-entertainer anyhow.
diab182,
Then you have two options if I drive you that crazy...
A. Ignore every single post I make. Skip over them.
B. Report every single post I make to the moderator to have them removed that drive you so crazy you feel the need to waste your time replying to my posts.
Also just to prepare you... I'm not the only one here airing my problems nor my feelings so you'll have alot of threads and posts to wade through from other frustrated dancers as well.
Then again just keep attacking only me, attacking the way I post, what I post about, how I feel when I post, and nit pick me apart and not anyone else for doing the same I am and who knows... I can report you for harrassment too! *winks & chuckles*
You don't have to like me here, nor I you but that doesn't mean you have to be rude and insulting to me. We will be posting on this forum so you either need to learn to skip over my posts.

As for this issue, when people are grouped and on the other side of the planet not contributing to the group and refuse to leave the group it is an issue.
This hurts other people in the cantina who are there, and groups are full then someone comes in and want to be an active part of the group for xp but can't.
Once you start grouping in cantina's you'll see what I mean. When 5 people are in but not active and 5 people arrive who want to be in the group it's frustrating.
Why would I want to split tips with someone not contributing to the groupon the other side of the planet??? That's just insane.
Likeet, I must disagree with you as well. Although I don't take the same degree of issue with you as Diab did, I must confess that yous seem to tend to overlook the obvious solutions. If there are group members who are AFK entertaing or who are not present, BOOT THEM! Keep your group filled with those who you consider worth it. If you're not the leader, form your own group.
There should be a group tip option, which could be toggled at the whim of the group leader, or overridden by the tipper. After all, it just saves a lot of hassle of tipping each entertainer individually, which can be done anyway. Again, we're not suggesting anything NEW here, just more convenient ways of doing what is already possible.
I would love to see tip split into 2 option...target or group. That way it is up to the discretion of the tipper who gets the credits. It is, after all, their money and should be up to them how they spend it. I ALWAYS tip the bandies in my groups since I think they are frequently left out of the tip scene.
However, I try and assure that our band group/ent troup are all active viable players. Being afk for an announced lentgh of time is ok...we all have RL things that pressure us to jump away for a few minutes. Being AFK for extended periods of time with macros running gaining EXP and not contributing to the overall welfare of the group is a situation which will get ya booted from most competant groups.
Ocaasionally I have found myself in groups where the leader wasless than proficient; I have a few wonderful patrons who kindly have funded costume changes via tips. It is for these reasons that I would NOT like the GL to have any power to auto MY tips.

Entertainers that are memorable and entertaining get tips.
Just because you happen to be standing in the same group, using the same skill doesn't make you an entertaining character. In my experience most entertainers either sit there like logs or only talk OOC to their friends in the group. Then they get all pissy that they aren't getting tipped and start spamming shouts like, "PLZ TIP UR ENTERTAINERS!!!!!" or the the spam I put on ignore the most often, "COME 2 BLAH BLAH CANTINA, /SIT /LISTEN & /WATCH US!! DON'T FORGET 2 /TIP PLZ!!!!"
Honestly I think fullyhalf the people that play an entertainer character do so because they enjoy talking and being around the real entertainers.
So, no, I don't want to see auotplitting of tips. Instead I want to see the herd thinned. Let the people looking for quick easy credits pick up combat skills and get the hell out of the way.
Bulbous2,
I will admit I had a hard time trying to explain the grouping situation in this thread earlier.
It's very hard to put every little detail in posts, and the examply I used was given to me second hand from the person it happened to while I wasn't in the cantina to witness it so I tried to be vauge as to not get the story wrong.
The grouping problem was we were all on the XP grind to hit our master titles, out of the 20 in there maybe 6 of us adults, and 14 kids (we confirmed most of their ages to be between 12 and maybe 15 after this situation). It would have killed us to cut from the group of 14 and branch off into our own group of 6 because many of us were 1 day away from reacing our titles.
The kids decided to each take shifts to play so none of us could get control of the group *shrugs*.... when the majority hit their goal we left and haven't been back.
Now the grouping for most of those 6 are no longer an issue, those that didn't hit the title are finding other areas to get great gains with out passing on where they are and happily doing their own thing.
I used the group thing as an example as to why I would love this feature and to be honest you are correct... which could be toggled at the whim of the group leader, or overridden by the tipper. This though never crossed my mind. Yes if it is a switch that can be toggled, great.
The great thing about these forums... we all have different ideas, and by posting them here we can find out what works for some, what works differently for others, and what isn't working for anyone. ![]()
