I was wondering what the correct way to ask dancers if they are willing to do Lap dances for $$

I would just send the dancer a /tell, asking them if they do private dances. If they don't, they'll say no. If they do, get ready to fork over some money.

Actually, it probably would be a bad idea to send a dancer a tell, because then they would think youa re singling them out as a possible '**edit**' who you think might want to do a lap dance. They'd probably wonder "Does this guy think I'm the type of girl who does lap dances?"

Best bet is to go into a cantina and just announce you are paying big money for a lap dance. If one of the dancers is interested, they will likely send you a tell.

I suppose that would depend on the dancer.

Although, I'm not surethat having the whole cantina know your businesswould be any better. Some folks prefer a little more privacy. So, allow me to amend my answer:

If you want to be discreet, send a /tell. If you don't want to chance offending anyone, I'd follow Lilac's advice.

The term Lap Dances can mean very different things to different people. If you're just looking for an Erotic Dance on the Cantina floor thats one thing. Some Dancers in Keren on Eclipse specialize in Erotic Dance. Eiloo'li and I (Flawed Diamond) are two professional Erotic Dancers there. Others are training for it since its a pretty specialized field of Dance and entails more than simply walking close and selecting a dance style. (and just to make it Clear, Eiloo and I do Erotic Dance ON the floor of the Cantina, nothing more, so DON'T waste your breath asking.)

If what you want is a Private Dance off the Cantina premises then say so. If a DANCE is all you want then be specific about that as well. Many girls will assume you want a lot more and will react accordingly.

If you're looking for something...more than just dancing then be prepared for rejection and possibly STRONG reactions. There are some women, who just happen to be Dancers, who DO provide such services, but they don't advertise and tend to find patrons by word of mouth.

DON'T play games by asking for a Private Dance and then expecting more than that unless you make you desires Clear and Unambiguous from the start. Otherwise you may get some unpleasant surprises including Official complaints.

Just be Clear with the person about what you're asking for. A simple 'Do you do Private Dances outside the Cantina?' is usually polite enough for the Dancer to say 'Yes' or 'No'. If they Do then a polite way to ask the next question would be to say quite simply 'Do you offer any Other services beyond Dancing?' That is polite enough that even the dancers who don't will usually answer you politely by saying simply 'No I dont!' If the answer is 'YES' to both questions then you should feel free to ask for more information and establish things beforehand, services, prices, venue, etc.

If the girl says 'NO' then do NOT press the issue. To do so is to step over the line when you have been given a clear and unambiguous Negative response. That's dangerous since some may interpret it as Sexual Harassment. Thats a place you DON'T want to go honey!

If you Do find such a person then be honest and direct with them. Referring to them as a 'whore' or '**edit**' is not a good negotiating tactic. Some of the girls in here desire to fulfill fantasies just as you do and do so on THEIR terms, not yours. You are engaged in a Business transaction in that case. If you want to use such terms and other expletives during the providing of such services then explain so up front. If you don't explain WHAT services you're seeking then don't be surprised if what you get is NOT what you ordered. The girls who do provide such services seek to provide them in such a way as to leave satisfied customers. Therefore explain WHAT services you are seeking and what you expect for your money.

I'm doing my very best not to turn this into a "why would you WANT a lap-dance in a video game" thread, but I'm failing miserably.

What are the mechanics of a "lap dance"? Do you expect the female avatar (since I assume the fantasy doesn't involve a male avatar - and yes, I say avatar because you haven't the faintest clue of the gender of the person at the keyboard) to "talk dirty" or otherwise arouse you? Are you expecting to type one-handed during this experience and are you assuming that the dancer understands that's what's happening?

For that matter, if you're a dancer who would consent to the above arrangement, why would you do that? Do you just ignore the one-handed typing and the addition of your toon to the other player's "list of people to contact when I'm horny"? If you decided to give a "lap dance", how would you go about it?

I've participated in these activities in real-life. It just seems really strange to think of people doing it in a video game and taking it even halfway seriously. It certainly strikes me as odd and just a little disquieting that someone would post on a public forum for advice on how to initiate such an experience.

Color me puzzled.

I like the idea of /tell ing an individual dancer instead of the whole bar and am willing to pay some hard earned cash for a erotic dance there at the bar, up close and personal. Would Dancers be offended if Iuse /tell to ask them as such?

If they said no, i would respect that and chill out.

I have to agree with Slick. I mean, whats the point? Aside from one-handed typing, that is. Not to mention the fact that the chick doin the dancing is, if the numbers here are anything like they were in EQ,most likely a dude? If you're not into gettin off to dudes pretending to be chicks, why would you want to partake in that? And if you are into that, then hey, just remember that around 70% of the female avatars in this game will likely be guys behind the computer.

This subject I find a bit disturbing, but not surprising. I'm tired of seeing the pieces of trash come into the cantina and basically offer themselves to every guy who is anywhere near. Theres a reason you get entertainment experience in hotels as well. Save the trashy crap for the hotels room and the entertainment and the talent for the cantina.

Youhave a good grasp that this a game, and people can have fun doing all things, even mature RPing.

The fact the I made this post shows that there are people out there that want to have some fun but respect the hell out of dancers, especially when they say No Thank You.

I love the idea darkmage, that there can be seedy bars to go to. It puts a little flavor in the game. Please tell me when you get it up and running.

Pardon me, but I don't understand. There is a mechanic to do a "lap dance" in which, yes, a Dancer does essentially move their character overtop of another and initiates an Exotic dance. It's kind of trashy, but perfectly legitimate, as it uses in-game mechanics.

What I don't understand are the offers/requests for "other services"? What are they supposed to consist of? Typing /hug, /kiss and /snog? Who would pay for that?

I can't imagine someone pathetic enough to be looking for cyber-sex in SWG, so I don't get it. That's where I think people start to lose their grip on reality.
