Is there some new requirement I missed that you have to dress like you're in an 80's music video to be a dancer? I think 90% of the girls in Coronet wear daisy duke's and knee-high boots. I swear some of them are even wearing moon boots. A couple of them are wearing yellow moon boots. !!!

LOL Does anyone else notice this tragic downward spiral in fashion sense?

Since Empire Strikes Back came out in 1980, and this game takes place thereabouts in time, whats the problem?

I think it may have to do with the utter lack (where I'm located, anyway) of dancer outfits. There don't seem to be that many tailors, and most of whatI find when I look are 1000 variations on the longsleeve shirt and tight pants. If I'm lucky, I'll see the good 'ol "Spec Ops Duster". Hardly appropriate dance wear. About the only clothing I've found that isn't either a plain shirt and pants, a jacket, or an ankle-long robe (the Taliban have nothing on the tailors of Tatooine, I swear) are:

1. The "reinforced pullover", a sort of longsleeve shirt/tunic combo that works as a WAY too short skirt if you forget to wear pants with it. It usually comes in the most hideous colors possible.

2. The plain robe, or something like that. Basically a knee-length dress with a bit of a vest over it. Comes in better colors, but there don't seem to be too many of them around.

3. The wraparound skirt, which comes down to about mid-calf. I've been thinking of getting one of these.

4. The wraparound, which is basically a short version of the wraparound skirt. Both of these items would be great if there were more tops to combine with them, but there aren't.

Also, a lot of these items are really expensive, particularly if you compare them to the prices for bone armor or weapons. This is why you walk into a cantina and see one musician in their undies, a dancer wearing a jacket, undies, and nothing else, another in short shorts and a bra, etc. Nothing that really works as an entertainment ensemble has become widely available yet.

Good gravy!

Not that anything is bad with 80's fashions so don't get me wrong... the 80's was MY decade to shine...but... well... you know...

*ponders*

I demand pegged pants, Izod shirts and topsiders for male dancers then! I'd definately tip any fellow male dancer wearing that outfit... after all a girl gets bored after hours in a cantina and being the female I am I check out the guys on the dance floor...

I would also like to have acid wash jeans and acid wash mini skirts along with Hyper color shirts and while they are at it adding flourescent dye tubs for us to change our own clothing colors to our favorite neon hue would be great!

And while were are at it can we have scratch and sniff characters so I can smell polo cologne again please!

I'd also appereciate a few Don Johnson jacket designs while we are at it!

I think image designers also will need to be nerfed in the next patch with "big hair" designs with lots of bangs. *giggles*

I have at least 6 long elegant gowns now all different styles, 5 pairs of pants (my favorites being the orange tiger stripe and the purple with the stripe going down the leg). I have about 9 different tops I can switch around with them as well.

My shoe closet is growing rather quickly too with 8 pairs being my last count.

It very easily could have to do with your location... I'm having no problem finding clothes.

This is why you walk into a cantina and see one musician in their undies, a dancer wearing a jacket, undies, and nothing else, another in short shorts and a bra, etc. Nothing that really works as an entertainment ensemble has become widely available yet.

Someone came in undie dancing spamming for tips and in group chat I did a "wow I haven't see an undie dancer since 2 days after game release in here".I offered hersome of the clothes I had and never wear anymore butinstead of nicely declining my offer she called me abad word and left the group.

Everyone I know who's an established dancer/entertainer has more than enough clothes to keep them from doing undie dances now. Most, not all of the undie dancers are doing it to be noticed from what I see and honestly it is getting a bit old with some patrons and they are starting to be teased about it instead of being tipped for it. hehe

The bazaar isfull of things... if you aren't picky about traveling to pick up something you see there and really want it bad enough. I find stuff on there all the time as well as my husband. He is always popping up in the cantina with stuff he's bought for me.

It appears that for some though it's not from a lack of tailors, it's from a lack of trying to find something. (Not saying you are this way, please don't take it to read that way)

I know one dancerwho isstill in her newbie clothes... she doesn't want to leave because she will loose out on XP and she can't understand why no one will buy her clothes for her just because she asks nicely... then again she's also demanding everyone train her for free because she has to pay the 6K to become novice and is living off her tips and refusing to do missions because "those delivery missionsare to hard on dancers to do".If she thinks 6K is bad wait until she has to pay 10K for master! *gets a laugh out of this person daily from her attitude*

If you play corbantis, I'll gladly give you the clothes I don't wear or need... I'm going to have to start selling them on the bazaar just to get rid of them so I can make space for the stuff I do like. hehe

Thats nice that you have the money and have the contacts to a tailor with those skills. MOST dancers have NEITHER. So trashing some poor dancer who is still learning her profession strikes me as a bit Elitest. I'm NOT talking about YOU Likeet dear. But I DO hear that from a lot of the girls. Its really catty and mean.

I'm always running short of clothes cause I tend to give away a lot of mine to new dancers so they have some variety. Sort of help them bootstrap their careers.

Course on the other hand that's a good way to get a hint to whether that dancer is REALLY a girl or is a guy PLAYING a girl. Guys just don't THINK about making catty remarks about what another woman is wearing especially when that OTHER woman has something nicer that makes you look like a COW. (laugh)

I've seen some great outfits on NPCs around the city... I just don't think anyone can make them yet where I am. If anyone know a good tailor on Tarq in Coronet please swing by the cantina with a ton of clothes... you will make a killing!

For the moment, my dancer is wearing some white pantaloons, black dress shoes, short sleeve pink shirt, 2 bracelets and a big visible necklace, a ring, and the CE shades. It works for a musician I think, but be a tough sell for a dancer!

Flawed Diamond,

I wasn't being catty, and I wasn't looking down on her, nor am I an elitest.

She stated that it might have been her location and I agreed.

On my server we have tailors that come in making their latest wears and suggesting to the patrons that buying a gown for a lady would be a wonderful thing... if the patrons don't buy they will then make anything we want at a cut rate from the bazaars. This has allowed us to get to know the tailors, and return to them for more items. Smart move on their part.

Also seriously, if someone wants a gown for2,500that'swhat...2 round trip delivery missions on Naboo, for me and all my dial up lag that's a15 minutes round trip. Don't call me an elitest because I got off my butt and did a a mission or twofor some of my clothes, it means I saw something I liked and worked to get it.

Please don't assume I am greedy, caty, and look my nose down on others like other women... it'sso far from the truth it's almost insulting.

I shared the experiences I was having, and how it was working out for me, and how I was getting some of the gowns I wantedin the chance that it wouldgiveher hope that her situation will turn around, and offered ideas on ways she can get some too.

For the record... I did not write that post to look down on her, I didn't write the post to sound like I was better than her, nor did I do it with the intent to makeher feel bad.

If I worded it poorly and then I apologize that was not my intent nor was it the tone I meant to use.

Guys just don't THINK about making catty remarks about what another woman is wearing especially when that OTHER woman has something nicer that makes you look like a COW. (laugh)

We agree on something... those huge gowns do consume pixels don't they... I perfer the slimmer looking gowns, the erotic dances just looks so much better in those, than the huge moo moo's they call gowns.

I also petition for the Dev's to bring back the "swatches" from the 80's... and they need the swatch guard too!

Likeet I said SPECIFICALLY that I was NOT talking about you cause I was afraid you'd think that.

What i was talking about is some of the girls I hear in the cantinas all to often making catty comments about some of the enw dancers. Snippy remarks about their fashion sense or thie sense of color or about being tacky dressers.

Or of someone like my sister who happens to know a very advanced tailor comes in in a new gown in some new color they make catty remarks about her.

THAT's what I was talking about Likeet.

So if you got the impression I was referring to you I apologize that was NOT my intent.

So I misread the tone in your reply thinkingI thought you misread the tonemine???

GAH!

This is why I hate message boards... there is no way to inflect the tone needed and it's sometime a guess at what the person is thinking.

Sorry about that.

I will say there it no better challenge than having an entertainer ask for something and walking with them through doing a mission.

I am lucky enough to be able to power game if I want to, I did at the start and it bit the big one being alone near the top with noone near me in skill. Because of that Istopped working my skillsat the higher levels so I wouldn't burn out and am now doing missions all day for credits (saving for a PA Hall now, hehe) .

I apologize if I made it sound that I was rolling in dough, I'm not... definately far from it. The only way I get credits now are through missions. Everyone in my group is tired of me saying "go do a mission for credits then" when I show up with something new... I work for what I have and I do show it off when I get it but that's it. It's like "hey look at my new dress *preens a moment* then I'm done with it.

I focus on a 10 credit tip more than my new clothes.... The funny thing is, I'm so not like that in the real world either. Shorts/sweats or jeans & a t-shirt or sweat shirt is what you will find me in. I own 2 dresses and hate being put in an event to where I have to wear them but if you give me a dress in game... whoa baby! hehe

So thanks for clearing that up, and back to the topic originally at hand....

I also ask for pink tinted Sun Cloud sunglasses.... those Tatoine sand storms are horrible and my character would love to own a pair again, since I can't get them anymore IRL. *laughs*

ooo cat fight! just kidding. I see alot of Half naked dancers, half of it is because of the lack of advanced tailors, 1/10th is because of the money, and the rest is because alot of the clothing i've found looks horrid once you put it on.....i can't stand the dresses i've seen so far. Makes my pretty blue Twi'lek look frumpy..i so don't want to look frumpy, is bad for tips.
