Thread: I need help dancers! I can not get my mind buffed! Please help!
1. Be in a cantina or camp. (It may work outside those areas but the one time I tried it in a space port it failed... not clear on that.)
2. Find a dancer with at least one box of Dance Technique skill. The more the better (this determines how much of a buff you get). Let the dancer start her highest available dance.
3. WATCH her. Unequip all hand-held items. Make sure your toon starts to clap while the items are unequipped. If he is not clapping, stop watching and start again. Make absolutely sure you are watching and the toon is clapping.
4. When you are sure of (3), then the dancer has to target you and type /setperform. She should get a message saying she is concentrating on you.
5. The dancer must flourish non-stop for 30 straight flourishes. This takes 8-10 minutes depending on which dance she is doing.
6. When the 8-10 minutes is over, STOP watching the dancer.
You should see the buff now take effect.

Keep in mind that dancer buffs don't work like doctor buffs. Whena doctor buffs you, you see the results right away on the status tab of your character sheet (cntrl +c).
When a dancer buffs you, you will not see the result until you /stopwatch. Through watching a master dancer, your buff will double your mind pool. If you normally have 500 mind unbuffed, you will get another 500 for a total of 1000 once you /stopwatch.
If you /stopwatch after only two minutes, you will still get a double mind pool buff. This would only last a few minutes though! By watching 8-10 minutes, your doubled mind pool should stay with you for at least two hours, barring death.
Unequip any items that would prevent your character from clapping to ensure that the /watch command worked. The clapping animation is the dancer's only reassurance that you are watching. Do the /stopwatch command before you leave the area so you can see your buff.
Drasmar - I don't see it mentioned above, but are you meditating by chance while watching the dancer when they are trying to buff you? Recently, as a Musician, I tried to buff someone who happened to be meditating while they watched me. So, after performing for them for 10 minutes, and then asking them to stop watching me, they still didn't receive a buff
. A fellow Musician explained to me why it wasn't working. The same is probably true for Dancers.
BardoZuul - Dancers only buff the primary mind pool, while Musicians buff the secondary skill Focus and Willpower.
