I had no problems last night using /setp in a player city cantina.

I too had no problems using /setperform in my cantina. Just a couple of checks for you:

1) you have to complete the buff on each person before using /setperform on the next.

2) make sure the people getting the buff aren't borking it on their own (just because they've been getting them in the past is no guarantee they haven't suddenly started doing something stupid that messes up the buff)

Best of luck,

I'm finding that about one in ten of my customers can't get dance buffs at all in my player cantina. Some of them tried up to 6 times in a row and were still unable to get them. Several of them tried full scans to no avail. I'm hoping to find one of them that will volunteer to get killed to see if a fresh cloning will help. I've tried setting on them at the beginning when im not dancing.. ive tried setting on them while dancing, ive tried setting on them every minute.. none of this seems to help. I buffed people for 11 hours yesterday trying to come up with solutions for this mess but it seems that nothing helps and sucess is totally random.

Mostly i've got a lot of customers who are saying that it's not worth all the hassle and they'll just stop getting dance buffs and go back to foods. I know a lot of you have voiced that you think this bug is great and the best thing to have ever happened to the dancer profession but if none of our customers want to have us buff them, there's not going to be much use for us. Personally, I dont think becoming extinct is a good thing for the profession.

Are the failed buffs you're experiencing passive (group) buffs, or active (/setperform) buffs? Are they single buffs (dance only), or simultaneous buffs from both a dancer and a musician?

I have only seen the problem arise with passive dancer buffs. The passive musician buffs still seem to work fine, but dancer only works with a /setp command.

unfortunately all of the above.Im having the most problems with passive buffs but ive had about 1 in 6 group leaders unable to get dance buffs with a musician in the group and all directions followed (to the best of my knowledge.. you know people never read instructions). I set perf once per minute but ive tried just setting at the beginning but it doesnt seem to make any difference how many times i set.. its still pretty random as to who is gonna get buffs. Ive also had people who were able to get both buffs last night and cant today. And after a little more time buffing today my previous numbers were a little optimistic its actually about 1 in 4 people that are having a problem getting either a dance buff or both dance/music... this is so depressing.

It sounds to me like what's happening is that the passive dance buffs aren't taking by themselves (a known issue), and that you're trying to overcome that by /setperforming each member of the group in turn, right?.

Here may be the catch that's causing you the headaches of figuring out what's going on. You can only /setp one person at a time. As soon as you /setp someone else, you cease buffing the previous person(s) that you had /setp'd for. Based on the above highlighted yellow text, I'm thinking that you're basically canceling each /setp at 1 minute, which is not long enough to get the minimum 2 minutes watching required for buffing, and would thus explain the buffing failures. And... come to think of it, I have not yet tested to see if doing a second /setp on the same player resets the 2 minute timer. It may.

As for the other issues... yep, sounds like a case of people not reading instructions. Read closely, pay attention, teach your buffing customers. We're working on getting fixes to our fixes.

Now this sounds really strange but we are getting 100% success now, the player "YES I said player" does /setper at the dancer you get a sys message that you direct your attention to the dancer. Strange but true.

I see myself as more than just a buffer, I'm a dancer.
If I buff 3 people a week thats a lot actually, I could perfectly live with dancer buffs taken completely away and done by docs as well, or by an NPC, or heck taken completely out of the game.

That way dancer buffbots would vanish (hopefully), and perhaps the other players would respect our proffession as something more than just buffbots, or always AFKers again. Thats my main problem with buffbots. The loss of respect they caused for the entire Entertainer Proffessions, not the loss of income
