Thread: xp (while inspired) bug and (semi) work around
From what I've observed, it looks like there may be a bonus to healing xp after you /stopwatch or /stoplisten to yourself. However, I'm not sure...I'll take another look at it tomorrow night when I'm on and see if I can be more specific for you.
The thing is, I'm getting 4 bits of system spam for every tic, two correspond with my healing and regular xp, the other two fluctuate, but average about 10% of the others. Unfortunately, all are labeled as "xp %TT" or some such, so I don't really know what type of xp they represent. I'll need to check my skill page to know for sure....

Yup..this has been pretty repeatable for me but there do seem to be a few problems that I'm still trying to quantify.
And yes..one of those is that the bonus may not always be applied to the total in the Experience window.

I just started playing around with this a bit, and I'm finding that the inspiration bonus is giving an XP DECREASE for dance XP. Here's how I tested. I brought up my skills window so I could see my Dance XP, and wrote down the current number. I then did a /startd exotic3 and picked a flourish to do, and followed it by a /stopd when I got an XP tick. What I found was that the system message said I received 47 Dance XP, and by looking at my XP I verified that I got 47 XP. I then did a /startd followed by a /stopw (making sure to have some insp. buff active first). Then I did a flourish and did a /stopd when I got an XP tick. This time the message said I recieved 48 Dance XP, but the rest of the message was kinda bugged, though it looked like it was trying to say that I recieved an additional 4 bonus XP. By comparing my experience from the skills window I received only 44 Dance XP. So a few weird things are going on.
After doing a little more testing, here's what I've found and /bugged so far. It seems that once you do /stopwatch on yourself. There is some increase in the stated value of your base XP. What is actually added to your XP total is 4 points less than the stated value, and the bonus value from the insp. buff does not seem to be added at all. This seems to be the case for both Dance (and Music I assume) and Ent. Healing XP.
On this issue of Healing XP, I did manange to get the insp. bonus to kick in on XP while buffing myself. The only thing is I had to /stopd just before the healing XP tick hit so it would happen only once. I got it to do this once, and managed to repeat it a couple of times. Unfortunately comparing my healing XP before and after, I did not actually receive the bonus point. The other thing I noticed was that after I did a /stopw self, I couldn't start watching myself again.
I don't believe that the inspirations are the cause of getting less dance xp. There is obviously the bug that the inspiration bonus is not getting added, but I don't think the cause of the lowered *base* is *because* of the inspiration.
The workaround to allow yourself to get an inspiration bonus while dancing is to stop watching yourself. It is my belief that the normal act of you watching yourself gives a bonus to dance xp, just as if someone else were watching you. Thus, you dance, you stop watching yourself, and you lose the bonus for the 1 watcher (yourself) and get a slightly lower base dance xp.
This is presumably testable by trying this while not inspired. If I'm correct, you should get less xp while not watching yourself even while not inspired.
But yeah, the fact that inspirations aren't working is no good and needs to be fixed.
