The workaround to allow yourself to get an inspiration bonus while dancing is to stop watching yourself. It is my belief that the normal act of you watching yourself gives a bonus to dance xp, just as if someone else were watching you. Thus, you dance, you stop watching yourself, and you lose the bonus for the 1 watcher (yourself) and get a slightly lower base dance xp.
This is presumably testable by trying this while not inspired. If I'm correct, you should get less xp while not watching yourself even while not inspired.
But yeah, the fact that inspirations aren't working is no good and needs to be fixed.
I just checked this out to be sure, and you're right.
Dancing without the Inspiration and without having /stopwatched, I got 48 xp per tic.
Dancing without Inspiration and having /stopwatched, I made 46 xp.
Dancing with Inspiration and having /stopwatched, I made 46 xp, while system messages said I got 51 xp.
However, this doesn't explain the Surveying xp loss I experienced yesterday. I was on the same spot both times and got the same amount in my sample. Any ideas there? (I'll ask on the Artisan forums too)

Ok, so if I understand this correctly, not only is the whole Inspiration Buff system fudged but some classes actually get punished for /watching us?!?!
Well this is just getting better and better.
Maybe the dev who programmed it skipped the math class

I dunno if I shoudl post this here or not... but it pertaines to the insteration buffs..I am regrinding master entertainer and working on the musician branch..
While performing I buff up my own insperation, when I use /stoplisten or /stopwatch I stop watching myself, then as soon as the insperation tics down a second I start Re applying it to myslef, and I dont gain any bonus
