Don't get too excited! This one's not ingame.
I'm planning a big Halloween party, and I really need help with the music selection. The classic spooky music / fx / movie themes are fine for the entrance, but once the party gets going….what the heck do you play on Halloween? I might throw in silly songs like Monster Mash from time to time, but I'd rather stay away from too many of those. Any suggestions? Any favorites?

anything rob zombie is good for haloween, especially living dead girl when you're trying to get your mack on. a good selection of music from 70's disco, 80's madonna and prince, 90's grunge rock, and current hip hop always works too, cuz a lot of costumes will be themed from those era's and they'll get down to music from their costume theme. just remember to mix in a rob zombie song when you're shifting gears on the era music.
i DJ clubs and parties on the weekends, so from a professional standpoint, i know what i'm talking about. but you've also got to remember to play to your crowd. pay attention to what they're getting down with, and try to give them as much of that as you can.

I'd also add the theme songs from The Addam's family and the Munsters. But I guess it depends on the age range of your guests and the type of party you are having.

I can't believe nobody has suggested 'The Monster Mash' yet. I know I hear it every year around this time.

That's because Til mentioned it already in the original post. I didn't feel I needed to list it again.

Anywhere from 18 to 35. (But don't tell the cops that.)
I hadn't thought of those shows.

I've never planned an adult halloween party. My baby was born the 26th so every year we have a kiddie halloween party. They are so much easier to please. Have you thought about what food you're going to serve?

Here are some various recommendations off the top of my head (of course it also depends on the type of party you want to run):
Haunted House
Spooky (Classics IV)
Love Potion #9
Devil with the Blue Dress On
Purple People Eater
In the Midnight Hour
Witch Doctor
Ghostbusters Theme
Selections from Phantom of the Opera (Overture, Angel of Music, Phantom of the Opera, Music of the Night, Masquerade)
Masochism Tango (Tom Lehrer)
Dead Man's Party (Oingo Boingo)
Weird Science (Oingo Boingo)
Thriller (Michael Jackson)
The Animal Song (Savage Garden)
Witchcraft (Frank Sinatra)
Time Warp (Rocky Horror)
Halloween (Aqua)
These are a lot of the ones I've used for Halloween parties before (some of the ones where I didn't list an artist I either didn't know or they have been done by a few different artists). I've always liked picking songs for Halloween because I figure you can pick anything that's themed, or funny or about animals or creatures or nighttime or whatever.
I also stumbled across a site that listed most or all of these and more.
