I see 1000's of post here and I am sure one of you dieing breed has thought of this, but here goes.

Make it like Pilot. You get the first few boxes for doing missions then you get a little exp then go do quest and unlock the other boxes.

I am not sure how many of you have done the tier 3 lvl in pilot but you get the box for doing the mission.

This would be 100's of times more fun and nobody would have to go crazy sitting in a cantina for hours and hours and hours grinding. Really I think it does something to the women in game after all that grind.

A) We are not dieing! *shakes fists* No no no, can't hear you! *covers ears*

B) We have boys too.

I'm ok with the separate skill point thing like Pilots have though. I actually think that could be very cool for Ents. I've never seen it talked about much in the public forums, though it has been quite a bit in the hidden forums.

Good grief. You have an excellent idea and yes I've just reached tier 3 of pilot so I understand the example. The problem isyour ending, was it necessary to imply that female dancers have some problem or the inuendo you implied about them grinding in cantinas?

I'm a male musician, I leveled at the key board, I enjoyed every minute of it. I enjoy the time I spend in a cantina with a group of friends more than all the hours I put in reaching master creature handler, master marksman, master scout, 3/4 the way to master ranger, and master rifleman. I enjoy it more than the time I put into that poor excuse for a flight simulator. So I can guaranteeyou myself and many other players in this game haveworked onway more experience than a dancer or musician does. How come they aren't all having problems?

I would love that. I could and would master musician and dancer and entertainer and still be a master Fencer and MCH.

And if I had to turn one off, like in FFXI, Who cares! I would still do it and spend the time to go back and forth from my house, just to have more of the entertainer professions. I don't see that happening in SWG though...although they could make us use the in city guild halls...

but a voice in my head says that this still doesn't solve the problem. ID would lose a lot of business if it wasn't based on SP.People would get Dancer/Musician so they can buff their group and circumvent the dedicated entertainer.

It is a good idea but it needs some working on before it could become a viable solution.

The problem I have with this is that even if we still have a game mechanic like buffing or healing, then everyone and their brother and sister would just pick up dance or music for the mechanics benefit of it (we already know that many of them have the time and patience to set up a buffbot), and then there's no need for dedicated professionals. No one would really need us as the hunting groups would likely just take care of themselves. If we don't have a game mechanic, then we become a pure fluff profession, and without some larger purpose or point in the game, our professions might whither away. There's no worry of pilot being a "fluff" profession because they devoted an entire expansion to it with missions, content, and purpose.

If you're just talking about the way to master the profession, then having it tied to missions can be an interesting idea.

If you're talking about removing the skill point cost so everyone and their brother can earn master dancer and musician, then no thanks. I don't want to live in that world. I like that it's a sacrifice to be a master dancer and that makes us rare and unique.

I agree with Javy. I don't want to see my chosen profession cheapened by giving it away for no skill points. If they do that, well why not make artisan professions cost no skill points, so we can all have master armorsmiths and weaponsmiths on our combat characters?

Here's an idea...make combat professions cost no skill points. Then my master dancer can be a bounty hunter too.

You can't fix dancer or musician if you leave the tip system in place.

I do absolutely positively do not want a separate skill pool or the lack of one altogether for Entertainers or our elites professions.

I personally agree with those who believe there should be a skill point cost. Dancer is a profession, and to make it nothing more than a series of /dance emotes just doesn't sit right with me either.

There have been some ideas around that I've seen regarding quest missions for professional advancement, and I've always loved that idea. A series of storyline missions/quests that must be completed to progress at certain milestones would, I think, provide a very nice immersive touch, and be great fun! I love how that works in JTL, and I've seen it work quite well in other games as well. My guess is that something like this would likely have to be a dev decision to apply across all professions (though, perhaps not...). If theDancer community likes this kind of an idea, we can certainly look into ideas like this when prompted for suggestions for our revamp.

What we need to do is find more integrated gameplay options for Dancers for our own fun, using our own skills. Support roles alone are a good way to integrate dancers into the rest of the playerbase, but I think there's a lot of room to expand on what our skills provide, engaging gameplay-wise. I do think that there could be manyoptions to look at for our gameplay experience that would make leveling to Master a lot of fun, rather than how some see it asa chore to have to get through. Those same kinds of ideas continue on into post-Master gameplay content... and those are the kinds of things I'd like to see supported.
