i remeber back when i wasa fresh new noob begining of week two ofthe game and someone told me if i did enough ent mission i could work my way up to dancing for the emperer of course it wasnt true but atthe time i was very excited that what i thought ent missions were you get to a certain point where you preform for diff people and face cnsequences for not doing well and rewards for doing well.
Perform for the emperor and face the concequences for not doing well...
Emperor: "You will pay the price for your use of poplock!" sizzle sizzle

Actually what he'd say is;

Then he'd ungroup and run off without saying another word.
Even the emperor is a better person than that.

No popular 1 and poplock 1 become available at the same time.

I am a poplocking fool, and I'm not ashamed to admit it!
Afterall, poplockwill be the only style of dance that you can buff with in the next edition of the gameStar Wars Galaxies 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Have to be careful with quests here.
Let's look for example at the current musician/dancer quests for the new dances. Most of the dancers and musicians I know in-game wanted the new material but had to grit their teeth and just slog through the missions because they were annoying. Myself, I took the first and second "get people to watch you missions" but unlike most people I know, I am in no rush (it took me over a YEAR to master dancer, so you can see that I am patient). I haven't ground out these missions... I just let the game count off whenever someone watches me and at some point I will hit 20 people and go back to continue the quest. But most people are not this patient and most people I know found the whole mission thing annoying. I honestly have not paid too much attention to this forum in the last 8 months or so, so I don't know what the general consensus HERE is, but I know what it is, in game, on my server, amongst my group of 20 or 30 fellow entertainers that I know well.
So, if they are going to put in quests, they're going to need to do it in a way that is different from how they have it now. A lot of people do not like performing for the NPCs for example. I actually think that part is potentially neat, just because I like sovling puzzles, and figuring out how to dance for them is like solving a puzzle. But, as they have it implemented now, the 2 minute timer is a pain in the neck... you don't have TIME to puzzle it out and work out the proper dances/flourishes (I solved the first one by guessing and luck), and the NPCs are clearly bugged, since for everyone I know, talking with them gives a 10-15 second delay before they say anything (which makes me think I am lagging, etc).
They need to address these bugs and issues and improve them before they start making doing quests the main way to get ahead as a dancer. Also they need to make VERY sure that they don't do things to further encourage grinding or discourage performing in public (which in a sense their quests are doing right now -- you grind "watchers", then you perform for NPCs).

What if you could boostbuffs or add a'special abiltiy' to a buffby actually 'performing' a routine with other dancers? Like you'd get alot better buff or a certain bonus by doing bandflos, group flourishesand so forth? Maybe even singing a song while performing with back up singers gives an even better buff or bonus?? Would that encourage creative routines and bring dancers and musicians together? Justa thought.

okay back.
First sorry about the woman dancer thing. I just like women dancers better as I am a guy.
And the guys doing many of the dances look foolish.
TO clear something up it should not be FREE SKILL points or everybody would do it just to get the buffs. For Each box you should have to preform/heal and complete a quest. There could be Rebel, Imperal, and Neutral quest that are tied to this it would add much more content. Instead of sitting in Coronet cantina for 100's of hours mindlessly doing flourishes.

Hmm..I would dig it if entertainers, had a quest system like pilots..heck I would dig any profession that had that...
But I would certainly dig ents having it. Especially if their master dancer box quest was to dance for me....*cough*
But no "no use of SP". Then everyone and their momma would run around as master ent/dancer/musician. Removing the last of the free spirited professions in the game. It would be nothing more than "earned emotes" for all the players then.
Tho, it would leave ents with more SP do do other things....But I'm selfish and want my ents dancing with..err for me. (I'm nver going to dance and wear hotpants!!)
Another thing that would be cool are quests and missions for dancers/musicians/ents..
"Jabba has required your presence to dance for him"
"The Vreni Island Theater needs a musician to complete the band for their performance"
"Psst, are you a entertainer? My troopers got beat up bad last nite, and need some morale boosters. Go there and make em happy"
Etc.
If it's a range of profession needing things like this, its the ent professions.
Most of us other, have dungeons, combat missions, live events and more..for now.
