Heyas everyone!

Okay, first off... no, it's not official Top 5 time again. But, since we've had a couple of fixes lately to long-standing little issues, I wanted to update our issues and bug fixes lists to reflect new priorities. Never know when I'll have the opportunity to try to get something patched up for us, so updated lists = gooood.

So, here's what I'm asking for. Two categories...

Major Dancer Issues:

Please list the top 5 major dancer issues, in order of importance to you and your gameplay. These can be the major things... anything that you think is a big issue for Dancers as a profession.

Quick-fix bugs:

Please list anything and everthing that you know of that are little bugs that just seem like they should be quick, easy fixes, taking into account that we're not necessarily sure how easy such fixes really are.

I know we may see many of the same issues as before showing up in these lists, but it's better to have a current record than rely on old lists.

Thanks in advance!

Big Issue,
Remove the ability to afk play our profession.

Quick Issue,
Give new entertainers to the game (female) something better then a furry diaper. its ugly and the shirt is frumpy, first thing female entertainers do is delete them, and dancing in your underwear is not sanitary, now hotpants are a different issue.

I have to agree with the Big Issue... Kill the bots!

Aside from that, my major complaint is the broken dances. Fix the dances so that other players will see the dance that I see. A dancer doing Lyricalor Formal looks like a drunk in the base dance. If you use the chase camera to re-orient your self during a flourish, on your screen, you can dance across the room. On they're screen, you stop dancing, stagger across the room, and start dancing again.

Very irritating...

Top 5 Major Issues:

1. Buffbots and, related to this, the ability to completely automate our profession while AFK
2. Lack of a complete and distinct set of flourishes for all the exotic dances (1-4)
3. Broken base dances - lyrical 1 & 2, theatrical 1 & 2, are there others?
4. Inability to buff ourselves
5. The fact that the simultaneous dance and music buff STILL hasn't been fixed

Easy Fixes (?):

- Art glitches, especially in the extremely revealing skirt
- Lack of dancer reward items (exquisite leotard) for all species and sexes
- Ridiculously high experience requirements for the new songs and dances
- Pathetic entertainer mission payouts
- Player city theaters that are undecoratable in the stage area and useless for healing/buffing
- Lack of group dance commands like /startbanddance, /changebanddance

Major issues;

1) I'd say the biggest issue right now for dancer and musician both is the lack of entertainer healing experience on all severs but the top three.

2) AFK is killing the profession. AFK skill gain, AFK healing and specifically AFK enhancing are rapidly devaluing the profession and leading to in game grief of the people who choose to actually play the profession.

3) Dance art is not working correctly. Some clothing items clip, fall animations don't work while holding weapons and some dances do not show up correctly on a /watching player's client.

Quick Fix Bugs;

1) Entertainer mission payout is set far too low.

2) Stored buff exploit.

3) Stage area of player theaters doesn't allow healing.

4) Listening to a musician while getting a dance enhancement causes that enhancement to fail.

5) Human stats are still bugged to the point where a human is able offset the action costs of dancing without the need for enhancements.

I'll go with the big fix being for the bots. Quick fix? A master dancer shouldn't have to hold a weapon or else she'll fall over. If someone has danced for as long as a master has (and that's pretty damn long) she'd know her stuff.

Top 5 Major Issues:

1. AFK performers, both buffbots and afk grinders.

2. Lack of a complete and distinct set of flourishes for all the exotic dances (1-4)

3. Continue to develop content around the popularity gained through theatre performances.(Maybe tie a dancers popularity to the payout from the mission terminals?)

4. Inability to buff ourselves

5. ---This spot intentionally left blank--- a.k.a. - I can't think of another

Easy Fixes

1. Entertainer Mission Payout & Distance to the gig - The pay is too low and the distance too far to travel, making the cost of getting to the location often more expensive than what the pay for the performance is. Maybe make the missions onthe terminal for that specific city. (example: if you check the ent. mission terminal in Mos Eisley the gig will be at the Mos Eisley Cantina, the Mos Eisley Theatre, or the Lucky Deposit)

2. Ability for a master dancer to dance unarmed without falling. If Brittany Spears can do it, so should I !

3. Make Jabba's Palace a spot where dancers can dance and heal people. What fun for the roleplaying community! Imagine if this was changed....Jabba's would possibly become a hang out spot and look less like a track meet from the front door to the throne room. It even talks aboutscoundrel of the galaxy relaxing hereon one of the load screens.

4. Lack of group dance commands like /startbanddance, /changebanddance

how could I have forgotten about the not being able to buff yourself thing? (I'm allowed to post twice, right? If not, this is my secret evil twin sister....shhhh)

People say dancers can't buff ourselves cos we can't see ourselves, but maybe we could have like a studio mirror as the prize in a form of dancer's quest. You could set it up in a cantina and "watch" your reflection and therefore be buffed.

Self buffing is not in the game by design and fall animations not showing for weapons is a bug. Just an FYI.

1.Buffing-

  • Fix and/or revamp buff application, including letting us self buff.90% of buff failures are because combat folks are confused on the application. They listened to a musician at the same time as watching me or forgot to /stopwatch that novice entertainer before /watch me. (You should be able to do both at the same time.) Meditate can break the buff and sometimes the buff simply doesn't apply at all. It frustrates the customer and is rather embarrassing and frustrating for the entertainer.

2. Dance Failures. I don't thinkmasters should fail at all but at least lessen the fall rate (you know musicians don't fail at all /grumble).

3..Add the missing flourishes. Exotics!
4. Fix the base dance of formal, lyrical and theatrical so our customer sees us dancing and not sliding across the floor randomly.
5. Loot. Theloot meant for our profession is obtainable by combat folks, not entertainers.Give us some quests that give us a chance to obtain some of this loot ourselves or maybe make them drop more often to drive the price down.

Thank you and I may need to edit later, I copied this from my 9-12-04 post.(I'm at work today , but hey I was able to take register off the list!.)

Quick fix? I maybe tossed from the good dancers club for this but.... I've thought about this alot lately and must get it off my chest. How about they lower the skillpoint costfor master dancer & musician. If they don't have time to fix the profession, I would appreciate them reducing the skill point cost to justify me only keeping it for fun value.

Top 5 Issues....Ok well I only have four:

  1. Broken base animations (Formal, Lyrical, Theatrical)

  2. Buff system problems, including the music/dance buff failure thing, inability to self-buff, AFK buffbotting, and my ultimate dream which is the possible addition of a timer/meter/something so one can know when they've danced/flourished enough to apply the full buff.

  3. Missions. Payouts, possible loot rewards, incentives to get out of the Cantina. More things like the Theed Theater Entertainer quests please!

  4. Missing/doubled flourishes for Exotic.

Minor Stuff:

  • Hilariously low mission payouts.

  • Weapon/fall bug.

  • Personally, I'm annoyed by the "You must wait x seconds before entertaining again" thing.

Besides from the formentioned bugs. This is one of the worst, infact it can be considered an exploit depending on how someone looks at it.

While holding an instrument and dancing, if someone changes the song the band is playing useing the /changebandsong command, the person dancing stops dancing and starts playing an insturment, but still gets xp for dancing.

A glitch because well it shoulden't happen, an exploit because if a master musician decides to dance and has no dancing xp, then they will get dancing xp based on the instrument they have equipt.

How do you fix it? I have no idea. I am not a programmer, just an aircraft electrician.
