Thread: Filtering cash tips

When I dance in a heavily populated place full of spam, sometimes miss that cash tips. I always want to thank people if they tip me, (frankly I have been making very good money as a dancer, maybe around 40k an hour or more)

I sometimes get a tell saying "did you get my tip" and I have to say "Sorry so much spam I must of missed it." Then he says 5k and I say "Thanks so much"

Is there a way to make a special tab or filter so I can log my cash tips? If I am buffing, then I am normally flourishing like crazy and I dont want to have to sift through all the flourish messages.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Here's what I do, adjust as you like or disregard lol:

Make a new Chat tab (right-click on any chat tab like Spatial, select Add Tab).

Right-click the Chat tab you just created, by default called "None." Select Modify Tab.

In the modify window, you can change "None" to something like "DanceChat" or something. Then, click on the chat types on the LEFT and click on the arrow in the middle of the window that's pointing to the RIGHT side of the window. This will "load" this chat type (Guild, Spatial, Group, etc.) into the DanceChat tab you just created. Do NOT put System Messages in there. We'll deal with them shortly. Don't forget to set the Default Channel to Spatial, or whatever you like!

Now, click OK and save that Chat tab.

Ok, do the exact same thing, but call the new Chat tab "System Messages" or whatever you like. Only add System Messages to this Chat tab. Click OK.

Finally (almost there!), hit CTRL+O and select the Chat Color tab to the left. Down under the big color palette, enter a phrase to colorize. I suggest "tips you" without the quotes. Color it orange, or maybe bright red, or whatever color stands out the best. Click "Add Word Colorization." You might also consider colorizing "at you" to instantly see when someone emotes to you, or whatever. It really does stand out, with that color added.

Bingo! Now, when you dance, use the DanceChat tab. When someone tips you, the system messages will still appear at the top center of your screen, but the tip words are colorized a bit! When you get used to it, it'll jump out at you more. Let's say you think you catch just a glimpse ofred text, might be a tip. Or, you went and got a drink. Wanna check to see if someone tipped you? Easy, switch to the System Messages tab! Now scroll up - just look for anything red! Or orange! Or whatever "stand out" color you set "tips you" to. Voila!

Also, it might help you to move your Combat window out of the Chat bar, if you haven't already. You can just drag it off the Chat bar (click, hold, and drag) and put it anywhere, resize it, and so forth. That's another place where (if it's "exposed" always) you can catch that red text before the System Message scroll right off your screen. Make the Combat window a little tall, and you're covered.

Hope that helps!

I just do colorization and dont' mess with another tab. I have tips and heals in bright pink (I use the blue "Imperial" color scheme), my name in bright yellow, cookie in red (mm... cookies..), ATK in red and I think "mind buff" in red.

Some system messages I like to see, so I didn't want to just toss system messages out of my main spatial tab. So with the blue scheme I can set the main system message color to be a blue that blends in with the background. It's not gone but it's not nearly as annoying as all the flourish/exp spam standing out in white.

only problem is if you are a pilot I recomment setting the color back to something that stands out before you go on a mission, because mission instructions come through in system messages

You want to see some of your system messages!? Ewwww....I've pulled all of mine out of the spatial tab and colorized the important ones ("tips you", "you direct your performance", and other such fun stuff). It makes following the conversation in spatial that much easier. The entertainer chat doesn't interfere, since it has it's own little home on the right side of my screen. (I see spatial/tells/groupchat in one box, and a pretty orange UEC chat in the other box). Sure my screen looks cluttered, but I know where to find everything....

Yeah, I understand that, but that's why I drag my Combat tab as a seperate window. All system messages show up in there. So, if I'm really so inclined to look at System Messages, I quick scroll through the combat queue and look for the colorized words.

My big color words:

"tip"
"bank" (for banktips)
"trade" (so and so wants to trade with you! How many times do we miss that one?)
"enhance" (stealth buffs in the cantina - I want to know whom to thank)
"heal" (medics heal me - also "entertainment HEALing experience")
"Jess" (cause nobody can spell n'Jessi so that one catches most derivatives)

I can't remember what it was, but there was some system message that I kept missing when I wasn't dancing.. I had them filtered out for a while. I can't for the life of me remember what it was, just that i missed it when it was gone I suppose an alternative coulda been to lengthen the time the messages stay on the screen, too.

Now I'm gonna spend the rest the day trying to remember!! /bonk self

I know there are people who do this... but this is basically what I do.

When someone comes into the cantina, I immediately wave to them or smile to them.

Sometimes they will pay no notice, sometimes they will and you can tell if they look at you and start watching you. I then start off some kind of conversation, trying not to make things too repetative for the other dancers.

What kind of gun is that?

Wow Master Marksman... you must be really good with guns...

What got ahold of you?

I will basically focus on one person at a time giving them my full undivided attention as long as I am in the cantina. Sometimes we even get into in depth conversations. Many times these people will begin seeking me out and I have sever of them who will tip me 10-15k every time they come into the cantina. Many of my customers and friends I have made I automatically invite them into my group and buff them.

I have customers all the time who ask me to come out to the death watch bunker or out to some POI like the tusken fort so that I can buff them. On these trips it is nice to get out of the cantina and I can make anywhere from 50-200k for these private dances. I oftentimes have PVPers who request that I come out to them to buff their group before a battle. I make quite a bit of money this way as well. I would say I probably clear about 1 million a month dancing and I never have to ask for a tip. I think the big thing is giving someone your undivided attention and actually creatively holding a conversation. I almost always compliment them or make them feel good about some aspect of themselves. To me healing the mind has nothing to do with battle fatigue, or silly blue stat bars.

I highlight "tips you", since sometimes "tip" gets too many results back. I also have "Pappi", "Pulch", and "Peta" (people can't spell long names). yesterday I used the "tips you" to catch Relan giving me money
