To offset this very big announcement that will affect all of you, I will be immediately working with the correspondents and the community to develop a list of pre-combat balance fixes to get combat into a more enjoyable state. This will encompass many items planned for the Combat Balance, and will happen in a steady stream between now and JTL. The Combat Medic and Bounty Hunter changes that are coming in Publish 9.1 are the first of these efforts.

Once more we have proof that we just aren't important in this game, if you ain't combat you ain't important!

number of combatants to number of entertainers is why we are getting overlooked. They have to weight out pleasing the bigger crowd.. and sadly , we arent it.

What are you talking about? I turned in four detailed Dancer issues for the Pre-CB submissions... and he's already asked for follow up.

Pleeeeease, give the dude a break... as soon as he has something solid to say, he will.

Yes, I think we're ina good spot right now - we can get some things in with this Combat Balance, and they seem very receptive suddenly to submissions for fixes/issues.

I'm with Panthu, we need to relax on this a bit...

I think they know a lot of folks are disappointed/frustrated, and I think (and I hope) this will push them to interact with us more, and address some things.

Maybe we'll get more than that +7 ranged defense and +7 melee defense mods at master. I kinda feel like a n00b with my current defense mods.

I don't get it. In that very thread he put forth a schedule where one of the few mini-publishes going out before JTL was going to focus on us. What is it that you wanted to see?

what she meant to say is...

calm down. lots of professions are being "left out". don't even get the politicians started... TH took pre-CB notes from everyone (that submitted it, which includes me and panthu), and we'll make sure they read it. in the mean time, sit back and relax.

edit: ick, grammar

I'm just mildly amused (in a twisted sort of way) that after all the times we've heard "never, ever, ever until after JTL", that now the legendary Combat Balance has been told "after JTL".

There's a certain sick satisfaction in hearing all the complaints about this, after so many of these same types of people have been calling us "whiners" for so long. In a way, the shoe is now on the other foot, and I really am enjoying it. I look forward to telling people in game, "now you know what it's like to be an entertainer." Well, if their income was also cut off.

Let's see if this thread is still here, and if I have new clicky-making skills...

Yeah, great Mini-Publish 10.2, we have to do some dumb quest to get new content for our profession, no other profession has been forced to earn what should have been provided a long time ago. DE, Chef, ID and others when something new was added to their profession just got it, they didn't have to follow some quest designed by someone who has proven time and time again that they have no clue as to how our playstyle should work.

And what do we get you ask? One song. One dance. Of the dances we have now 4 don't display correctly and are rarely used except to level and all the highest dances, what should be the showcase dances of our profession are mere shadows of what we should have since they were never finished.

I for one would be happy to forgo the Entertainer quest and have them concentrate on FIXING and FINISHING what we should already have. Sorry if I'm being negative but this just sounds like one more minor bone being tossed in our direction to get us to shut up and be good little girls and boys. We are being offered too little and too late. They charge us monthly for this game and then rob it and us of the resources to make what we are paying for NOW work so that they can produce a new game that will have little if anything to offer to our chosen profession and playstyle.

Am I angry? You bet I am!

You think the devs think this stuff up on their own? Guess who asked for better quests and even added it to our top 5? ENTERTAINERS. And now that they're giving us quests that pay better and even give us a new dance/song as a reward, we're still not happy? We're going to sit here and complain to them about giving us some attention?

I know there are bugs. I know there are unfinished dances. I'd like to see all those things finished and fixed, too, but in light of the shaft the rest of the community just got, I would think we as entertainers would be just a tad more grateful for getting a mini-publish dedicated to us.

I personally don't mind having to work my way through a bit of content designed specifically for us in order to earn new rewards and new dances. It's akin to the combat folks going through hell to earn Mandalorian armor. They could have just given that to armorsmiths to crank out in mass quantities, but they decided to mix it in with some new content.

If you think of the quests as a chore, then read the inevitable guide to getting through it as fast as possible and get your new song/dance. But do keep in mind that there are some folks for whom quests are fun, they asked for this type of content, and the devs are trying to deliver.

This community is amazing. We finally get some attention, including a new dance, and all I hear is complaining.

Well, while I do wish some dev-lov would be dropped on our broken dances, I am glad to be giving the chance to actually do a quest where I don't risk life and limb (not that I couldn't handle a good deal with TKN but, the baby, you know ) and get something that is viable to all dancers - not just the females of the species.
