What do you mean by "fix Exotic 1 basic dance" exactly? Every '1' dance is supposed to look a little messed up, because in essence, you're just learning that style of dancing. That's why there's the '2' dances, and the '3' and '4' with exotic. ^.^ Unless they've recently screwed up the look of Exotic 1.

I also agree with everyone else who said the collision detection is far too much. Too easy to grief, etc. You can't have realism in a GAME based in a fantasy world. If you go along those lines, there are WAY too many things to be fixed due to "realism."

I think we need to push for better entertainer missions, new/more/better flourishes, and maybe off to the side, new dances. I like the idea of /deny enhancements. I'd also love to see a way to permanantly deny someone, so you don't have to /deny them each time you see them come in.

I'd love to see some more dancing techniques. Perhaps new lights, or more than just lights and the smoke effect, such as a mini-firework type thing, or explosions(like the musician's fire thing they have, and ventriloquism). Also, using techniques should give some XP boost, either for dancing XP, or helps heal faster. Because man, it hurt wasting XP on a useless branch that just made you look flashy.

Cantinas need more dancing space.

And of course, the last mentioned but pretty much first on everyone's list--the AFKers! But I won't get into that. ^.^

having to stop dancing because someone runs into you would simply cause WAY too much griefing.

I did not read passed the first page.so forgive me if someone has already had this idea.. or posted this.

As for the idea of a an entertainer to stop dancing when another player bumps into them, i agree on a certain level. I also think this might improve AFK macro'ers.

If a non-entertainer runs into the cantina and collides witha dancer.. they shoud stop dancing? No.

If another DANCER collides into another dancer while on the dancefloor, they should both stop dancing? Yes.

I havent really thought about the consequences of this idea. but it sounds good tome. If an AFK dancer bumps into another, he will stop dancing, and end his macro <unless he has it to loop with /startdance in the macro>.

And if neither are AFK, then they just move further apart.

Also, this can even out the space in cantinas. There is SO much room! There are back rooms, side rooms, and entrances, that no one ever dances in, just becuase they are not the BIG entertainer room. My biggest complaint is when I walk into the cantina, and there are 30 entertainers bundled up at the doorway. I know devs cant TELL ppl where to dance.. but if you're in a group, it doesnt matter where ur dancing, you get xp if someone watches anyone in your group, considering.. if you are in a group.

Anyway, thats how i feel. Doubt anyone will read this anyway .. but heres a chance <i hope> lol

beind Master ID, and starting to watch a lot of dancers, i think that male dancers (or all actually) need more dance styles... the # one dance that i heard from my guild was....

THE FUNKY CHICKEN DANCE!!!!!!

this would attract at least 5 more people in my guild alone (on tarq) to become master dancers... plus it will add some comedy to the game =D

To begin with, Iam a master dancer, and after reading through many of the posts, I find some of these complaints simply rediculous! It's amazing how people can become so upset about such issues as AFK'ers and Collision Detection. These are non issues and in my opinion a waste of time. People who AFK, may grind their way through their dance xp, but they will most likely never profit monetarily from doing so, since they will receive little or no credits from others. While AFK they do however serve to aid players at odd hours when no one else is available. They heal and gain xp but receive less or no credits, so what! Once they receive master status they will probably surrender these skills in search of their next holo adventure, once again, who cares? How do they hurt you, I have never been affected by whether someone else is AFK grinding. Play your role, be your character, live and let live. If they decide to keep their dancing skills they can hardly buff anyone or go in hunting groups while AFK, so they will now be playing their character, hopefully enjoying their role, enjoying the game.

As for Collision Detection, this would open even a bigger can of worms! Disrupting dance moves, other people, all the griefing it would cause. Its unrealistic to go that direction and even if it was only applied to furniture, you can't tell me you would enjoy having your routines messedup just because a chair was in the way, especially if you are in a macro routine because you are chatting with customers. Dancers would become weary of that. How doyou avoid collision in the tiny cantinas such as is on Dantooine for instance, nope it won't work, bad idea!

The whole reason for cantinas, is to bring people together in anunique setting. Dancing, music, chat, intrigue, a few bar-room brawls, a little shooting, ducking . . . you know . . . it's kind of a Star Wars thing!

NOW FOR THE REAL ISSUES- All of the dance moves should be asthetic. The begining dances should be simpler and shorter perhaps, but nevertheless look pleasing. Remember, better xp is gained by the higher dances, so what reason is there for the lower dances to look so clumsy and awkward? If all dance moves were smooth and appealing, then as a Master Dancer, one could incorporate ALL the various moves from top to bottom into appealing performances and routines!

Falling Down - I'm not against falling down, but the frequency should diminish the higher a dancer gets until when at master it NEVER happens! This should be a bonus for having achieved Master.

Buffing Self - Mind buffing one's own self should also only be available as a Master but should definately be a given. I can't think of any other proffession right now that can't use their skills tobenefit themselves (though I'm sure there probably are a few).

Action Usage - I believe that as a dancer achieves Master status they should be stronger and capable of less action loss.

Well, just a few thoughts for what its worth

Healing XP! My #1,2,3 issue.

I'd like to suggest that doing entertainer buffs give entertainer healing xp. It would help with the Healing XP Shortage (which I agree exists), could help dancers feel empowered to make progress even if the xp was initially small, and would reward those who are at the keyboard and interacting with the audience, since it is harder to do buffs AFK, especially active buffs.

Mind buffs, in fact, do give healing xp.
