Thread: To far away error

The last time I had this bug, I kept the entertainer targetted and went out of the cantina and kept stopping at various distances to /watch again. Finally when I just passed 60m away, I did the /watch and it worked. This was at the Mos Eisley cantina. This is such a strange bug.

Only that it is being worked on as a top priority. It appears this is a result of a Line of Sight problem that is affecting many game aspects. In addition to how it affects us, players are reporting the same problem when trying to access clone terminals, city hall terminals, vendors and harvesters.

If the level of progress we've seen in fixing this bug is indicative of what effort a "top priority" gets, it is most disheartening. Looking at the dates in this and other threads regarding it, and noting that last night it took me half an hour of spamming /watch and /listen and moving city to city to finally find an entertainer I could watch, it looks like alas, they have the same crack team working on this as they do on the smuggling system *wry smile*.

What's less than heartening is that the other problems seem to have been resolved, but we remain totally borked.

Any benefit we can provide to anyone is negated by this bug.

And it's gone on for far too long. It is profession-breaking, it ONCE AGAIN makes people less than faithful that we'll actually WORK when they interact with us. Remember the old buggy Mind buff system that sometimes just wouldn't work for no apparent reason?

Yeah - well, now they can see a reason why things aren't working. Bottom line is we have exactly what we left behind - a buggy buff system that sometimes simply won't work.

I see little improvement from how we were pre-CU, except that now I don't feel I have a valuable commodity to offer players...and even if I wanted to inspire them, I can't. And there's no end in sight for that.

This bug is no longer relevent. Since there is no game related reason to watch or listen to us anymore, there is no reason to do anything to fix this bug. Problem solved.

Good point. They just used that paradigm to fix creature handlers on the newest test patch too. No creature commands whatsoever work any more, so why bother to tame/bioengineer them? PROBLEM SOLVED!

You know... some people DO find the insperations usefull.. My guild mates on Bria and Corbantis don't like hunting without them, and will spend the time to seek them out....

All of you unhappy about this bug and also the new problems about entertainers having no purpose read and elaberate on my ideas I posted just a few mins ago. More good feed back the more likely they'll do something about it.

Okay it's been a long week and it's only Monday but is there any word on this? I even tried to go back to the thread you clickied for reporting this Esh and it's been removed. An entertainer has one and only one support mechanism in this game. It requires the ability of other players to watch or listen. If it's broken then what's the point? If combat players got a message saying their mission was too far away or their weapon was too far away would the bug still be persisting after untold number of weeks? Now that everything else has been stripped from me except for the ability to pick up a prop can't this be considered game breaking????? I'm so sick of this bug I'm ready for violence.

Me too. With every patch, I report it as our number one bug both on TC and Live.I've asked, yet again, for an update regarding this.
