I'm certainly willing to wait and see. I just wanted to make certain that it was understood that at least for me the released information wasn't enough to make me go "how soon can I pre-order!?" I wasn't trying to say "pfft why bother?" but rather more like "uhm.. will there be a function to go with the new dance?" I just don't really feel confident that everyone is on the same page and I guess that's why I'm being vocal about this. I'll just go get some chai and ginger snaps and shut up for a while.

I most likely will buy it. Twice. I'm dumb like that. All Anom got from RotW was a cantina I've never entertained in, and the ability to get a Heavy X. That was nice, but not a requirement. And I bought it after Lisha got it and I knew there was nothing for Anom.

Pre-order? Nope. Don't need a skiff that bad. Goddess gave me eyes, a wrist, and the capacity to notice where somoeone is. (Don't need /follow, can you imagine? Don't even need /matchspeed or whatever the command is, as I can usually see if I am gaining or losing on a target. So having 7 others in a skiff is hardly incentive to spend money on this.)

Is a new dance/song/prop content? Not to the tune of $30. If it was in publish 2x then I'd be happy. Is this new cantina(s) going to be as busy as Kachiro? Because, if it is, then I don't need it.

Now, do I want a new song or dance? Yep. I like having everything I can on Nommi. (Anom still cannot get Theatrical 2, but that is another thread.) And if it means that account needs to spend $30 for something that We should have gotten for free, well I guess I'll buy it. But not for 1 nano-second should anyone think I'll drop the money because I think they did right by me. Patting me on the back and saying there is stuff for me to do there doesn't wash. (Let us face it... Is there going to be anything there for a GM ent to do? And if so, why can't I do it on any other planet? Do I really need to see happy-fire-moon to learn a dance? Does the fact that my feet are in lava make a compelling story as to how I learned the jitterbug?)

Will Lisha/Shesha get new clothing? Maybe. Noone knows. Could I get it on my own? Not likely. Can Anom/Nommi get the new content? Well, I'd like to think so, but one never knows. (I'll have to assume that ents can get our content without 7 CL80s in tow.)

And it does boil down to playability. If I get the new ent toys, do I ever go back to Lava-land? I have not been back to Kashyyyk in moons. Nothing there for my ents, and very little for my tailor/TKs. (I wander by the Kachiro Cantina from time to time, but I can just as easily sit in any empty theater or cantina. That doesn't cost me a dime.)

So I take it some marketing department came to a conclusion that way too many entertainers didn’t bother purchasing the last expansion, there’s nothing like lost sales to spring marketing heads in action. So they came up with (in their book) making sure this time around entertainers do purchase their expansion even thru there is really no place for them there.

Actually I don't think this is exactly the case.

I think they realized on their threads from Mr. Sony-Exec, that about 1/4 of the questions were "What about my level 1 toon?" They then decided, "We'd better put something in for the non-combat characters" because, even though there are less of us now than previously, there are probably 1/5th to 1/4th of all characters that are non-combat in part or in whole. So they decided to add non-combat material and this probably followed along the lines of "one schematic per non-combat class" just to throw them a bone.... and we happened to be one of those classes.

I don't think they would've done it just to make entertainers buy the expansion because, as Eshie keeps telling us, there aren't enough of us for them to bother about in terms of sheer numbers. Add to that, 99% of all entertainer toons are owned by AFKers who just bot them... these people are not going to buy an expansion and do dance or music quests for their guild bot. Master Dancer is all they need (or MM). It's not like they do the theater quests right now, either, is it? Only the real entertainers generally do that.

Given how few true entertainers there are, and how few of them are the only character on the only account a player has, it doesn't make sense that they would care one way or the other about whether such a small number of people buy the expansion. So I can't see them putting our new dance/song schemtics in there just for those couple of hundred (if that) accounts. They did it for the 25,000 or whatever, accounts of all non-combat players, such as artisans and the like, and dancers just came along for the ride. And that was only because the song and dance had long-ago already been written and coded up.
