Thread: Videos, videos, videos!
Also if I want to create a intro animation for a video like many of the other ones have, can I create that with Premiere Elements or does that require different software? If so what kind of software, and is it freeware or something else to buy?
I still have a lot more to figure out about this, and I would want to make sure I know what to do and how I would want to do it in advance before I go off and start buying stuff.
Hi,
We have a web page for our videos (we're just getting started).
Here's the link: R'AGING AGE Productions
Hope you enjoy! ![]()

I really want to try making a video, but so far I just don't think I can get what I want out of the free stuff like MM2. I notice there's a fairly inexpensive lite version of Adobe Premiere out there called Adobe Premiere Elements. Has anyone used it and can recommend it (the lite version and not the full-on version I mean)? Does it have a still have a lot of useful features? Is there anything in particular that it's missing or that you can't do with it that's notable?

As far as Adobe Premiere Elements...
My girlfriend picked up a copy because she was tired of Movie Maker, and to be honest I wouldn't really recommend people use the program I use, it's too much of a pain to get videos into and out of. So she bought it and I helped her a bit.
It is certainly quite capable, and far beyond Movie Maker. I would say it is quite worth the money. My biggest complaint with it is that I felt like the interface was a bit too dumbed down from what I'm used to. However, what I'm used to would probably be considered mind numbingly complex to many people. I could do nearly everything I wanted in Adobe Premiere Elements with little trouble. There were a few odd quirks that bothered me, but I think that can be said about any piece of software.
So for editing, if you don't want to spend the money, use Movie Maker 2. If you've got $100 to blow, get Adobe Premiere Elements.
Have never used Elements myself, I have stuck with Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5
The main bonus that I see to using a professional editor like these over movie maker is all of the effects and settings that you can change and use, as well as the fact that you can have more than just one video and audio track. Mixing something like voice, or sound effects with music in moviemaker is a nightmare.
I wanted to mention this great video as well.

I recently read about machinima, the making of film through the medium of game engines, in an article in the Guardian newspaper (UK) and it seems to be a growing art form both in the numbers practicing it and the creativity and quality in what's produced.
Anyway, have fun with those links
Edit: Oops, for got to mention (although it's in the article clickified above) that Lionhead (creatores of Black and White) are making a game simply called, "The Movies" which is something you also might wanna check out
