I wanted no part of this battle of the sexes. This thread was supposed to be a nice condemnation of Flawed Diamond. However, the last few messages beg a comment: The only reason females are allowed to be pilots is due to political correctness run amok. They lack the skill of their male counterparts. In fact, the whole idea of women in any combat arms profession is just ludicrous.

Let's see how well the soldier's ability to runmassive distances carrying gear saves him from the 5'2", 125lb F-16 pilot who guides aCBU-87 in over his head and perforates his fine physique with several thousand steel fragments. My suspicion is he'll die a painful death, just like anyone else...

The point that you are missing is that with all things being equal--no pistols, no military aircraft, no nuclear weapons--men will pound you ladies into the ground. It hurts me to say that, because the idea of a man hurtinga woman makes me physically ill, butit is true. Of course there are exceptions, but not many.

With pistols at 20 paces a man will most likely win. A dogfight a man will probably win. With nuclear weapons, well, no one wins that one

"if both men and women have the same capacity to be equally intelligent, and men ALSO have the superior physique to go with the intelligence, then you can deduce that it sets them on a pedestal above women"

That may be *partialy* true Aleksander.. inmany cases the male is physically stronger in say the ability to lift more weight then we females can.. but.. you havent taken into consideration our ability to handle pysical pain better than youguys in a lot ofcases. Ask any man whos been there with his wife/girlfriend during the birthing process and ask them what they think. Why not just accept that men and women are equal but we each have our own strengths and our own weakenesses and just leave it at that ok?

I'll tell you what sweety, go join the army and go running a few Killometers in full gear, we'll see how far you get. Point of fact, physical strength is still needed in todays day and age, just in a different fashion than "See stone, lift stone, throw stone."

First of all, I'm not your sweetie. That term is reserved for those I'm fond of.

Second, I don't know if you saw the Indiana Jones movies? Remember when the Arab pulled the fancy curved swords out of his belt and waved them around, only to have Jones shoot him with his pistol?

Seems to me a few well-placed missiles - mostly built by women, btw - would do the same thing to your burly, testosterone-laden platoon of men running around.

(snort)

I'm truly sorry that you're still living in the 19th century. But there's not much the rest of us can do to help you with that.

Sorry. For the uneducated, those same old lies trotted out again might cut it. But sorry. I know "senior military personnel". I count a great many as friends. And none of them would tell you that the females in their service provide less than an equal level of service to their male counterparts, because they don't. Look at some REAL military studies and commentaries. They say nothing of the sort.

I suspect you cling to these old lies for the sake of your fragile, fragile ego.

What good soldiers are women when every month they get there ‘period’ and are completely useless.

I really must say - this used to be a pretty interesting thread. Now it's a pissing contest involving some sexually inadequate, testosterone-poisoned little boys who like to think 'might makes right'. Get over yourselves. There has been no such "Military testing" at all, you're grasping for straws. And for your information, that period is exactly when we're at our most dangerous - or haven't you crossed a woman on PMS before?

Let's see how you take the pain of passing a small watermelon through your pelvic cavity - sometimes more than once - and then come talk to me about your imaginary strength and bravery. You'd probably be a shrivelling sobbing mess after your first labor pain.

As usual, this is woman'sbest argument. But, since you are specially equipted for such afunction, your argument is fallacious. How many times to we men have to have this drivel shoved down our throats?

About as often as the GI-Joe and Arnold Schwarzenegger arguments are shoved down ours.

Brains over brawn. It's how hominids have survived for 6 million years, and it's a level playing field for both genders.

I hate to repeat what has been said before in this thread, so I'll keep it very brief. If what you state is true, that brains over brawn is the great equalizer, then why have men dominated thisplanet for all mellinnium. WHY?

I don't care who is more intelligent. I don't care who is stronger, especially as this gets less and less important if you are competing for the first. I don't fight people. The choice I have is respecting or ignoring you. Brawns will do nothing for my respect. Brains will sway me in your favor. Your respect will influence my decicion a great deal, and the prejudices you show here Alexander don't speak for respect.

No respect fro you, no respect from me.

It don't matter what we gots in our pants people, it's what we gots in our hearts. Gender disposition only goes so far. Our ability to withstand pain andwill to harm can be easily learned to those willing... and if y'all truly don't see this, I give up.

Sinda, talk to a VietnamPOW about pain.Think of what fraction you could've taken and get over it.

Alex--chief, why are you even making this a fight? Men are more bred for war, no kidding. So what? It now being the 21st century and all, there's more to life than just war and basic survival.

I just hopethe bitterness and anger some of you are carrying on here with isn't hindering your personal relationships....

In pre-history, women were not always the homemakers our modern culture likes to portray. We have uncovered archaeological evidence that women just as often also hunted, right alongside the men. The difference between then and now is evolved culture - today women have the mistaken image of the 'weaker' gender simply because it became our role to give birth and raise children. That cultural view doesn't take into account the number of civilizations in history that were ruled - both well and also brutally - by women.

So your "domination" is merely a misperception. Historically, it just doesn't hold much water.

My husband is a Vietnam vet with a Purple Heart. The only thing women couldn't have done in that war - or any war - is to pee standing up.
