I am a Dancer/Fencer and have been for quite some time. Over a year at least.

Just today I was playing around with a new character builder based on the CU and noticed that the elite combat profs have been bumped up to 106 skill points (same as Dancer has always been) from the 92 that they used to be.

Since the CU will place me at a disadvantage that I am not at now in regards to combat as well as the Wound Healing branch in dancer becoming useless I vote for #2.

I would like to see the Skill Point requirement dropped to be on par with Architect, Tailor, Chef etc. Which would be 92 Skill Points.

However I would not be totally against #3 just prefer #2.

Mause Darkmist Master Fencer/Retired Master Dancer, still dance though
Maci Darkmist - Master Chef/Master Artisan/Master Merchant and a bit of a musician to boot!

I always thought that combining the 2 would be a good thing in a way.. You combine both Tech Lines, so that you get both the skill from Dancer Tech and Musician Tech... and both BF healing lines so you get all the same BF healing abilities..

Then you have a Dancing Knowlage line and a Musician Knowlage line.. when you getthe knowlage IV Boxesyou get the option to choose the title "Master Dancer/Master Musician" so that people who want to identify with a particular skill can. andit also gives those who don't want tobe identifyed as both the option too.

But, my point is that, if that if they end up combining the trees, then in order to get the full benefits of Master Dancer, you would also be required to get all of the musician lines. I don't mind a system that combines the trees so much as I mind a system that requires me to go all the way up musician so I can have exotic4. It's the same reason I hate that a musician has to go up the dancing and ID lines in Entertainer just to get the mandovial. It's the requirement of taking on extra skill points in order to be a "full" dancer that I don't like. Does that make any sense?

If what you're suggesting is that you get ALL of the dances at Knowledge IV as well as the title of Master Dancer, which would kind of mean there's no point to a Master Performer box at all...well, that would be fine too.

You know I don't think I would have a problem with that.. Heap the Master box Benifits into Dancing/Musician IV along with the Titles.

I Don't think everyone would like that Idea tho.

Well you have to get votes to get master politician, and most politicians are MAJOR a**wipes about letting people run for election in "Their" cities... Dimocracy indeed... Pfft

If I was a politician, I wouldn't have liked all my skill points being removed. However, politician is a bit different from the entertainer professions in that not everybody can be a politician. There are a finite amount of cities, and I can never conceive the entire game full of people running there own cities with only 4 other residents. LOL. Being a politician still has some benefit, prestige, and uniqueness completely due to how their profession works. I suppose politician does work without the skillpoints even though I am initially adverse to the idea.

On the other hand, entertainer professions without skill points means that everyone CAN be an entertainer. Everybody can get the same exact benefit. There is no benefit, prestige or uniqueness of being an entertainer. I ultimately don't contribute to the game world or have any function since everybody else can do it. Nobody will ever need an entertainer like they do a politician to run a city.

We disagree here how?

Yousaid what I was kinda hinting at... The fact that you need votes as a politiciankeeps the population down.. All anyone needs to master Musician/Dancer is a cantina and a macro (sadly)

With the CU being as it is, I think number one is unfair on a lot of people - when they first announced that Image Designers would get their skillpoints dropped, I was kinda insulted. Then when we realized that skillpoints for combats would go up, I was relieved since the skillpoint drop made up for it (and the last word is not said yet about skillpoint use in the CU).

SO - it makes sense to re-arrange the skillpoints to allow for mixed templates.

3? Only if becoming a master dancer/musician is as difficult, time consuming and expensive as becoming a pilot.

Been around since early beta enjoying master musician/dancer but gave it up after 6 months, the changes live and experinces in the afk buff bot realm, and with the up coming 14 additional skill points needed i vote for a combination

of 2 and 3

If group sizes remain 8 and no "raid size groups planned" and even enterainers allowing for inspiration buffs, i would also not fuss to much about skills being combined under one profesional umbrealla as

"preformer"

The fact is when there is only a small group of players that play a certain class it just dosen't equate to tons of content being deveolped only for them.

However with that said swg is unique in the fact you have no combat professions that can do well in the game without having to combat, which still makes the consept of the entertainer/ musician /dancer totaly unique to this game only.

I'm not exactly sure which one I prefer. I like to sit back and see what is going to go on before making any decisions.

However, I am adamantly against #3.

We are already advocating concern on the new inspiration buffs, bots, and the passive ability. If we eliminate all our skill points, then anyone can just come along and pick up some Entertainer, afk in the cantina to get up to an acceptable level, and buff themselves (since it is currently stated that you can buff yourself). This will completely eliminate our usefulness. We're already unsure on where we are going to be. Removal of our SP costs would only cause further harm to us.
