I used accarragm for each performance - didn't have any effect one way or the other. A couple I failed and the others I suceeded.
At the least, when you fail, the theater manager should give you some "professional advice" - tips that will help you the next go-round.
And I still think that the credit payout is absurd. We should get at least10,000 credits for the final performance - what combat type would take a quest thatpayed out only acouple 1000 measly credits? We have to wait 24 hours, often several times, and all we get is a token monetary reward.I have news for the devs - the dance itself isn't enough. How are our fellow players going to acknowledge that we deserve qualitytips for our performances when the devs don't even seem to?. . . pfft.

How about the 24 hour wait ACTUALLY being 24 hours? I mean haven't they heard of a real time clock? Or as we've seen in other areas is programming to use the real time of day, like the real world people who are playing the game, beyond their ability? With the unrealisticly high failure rate a 25+ hour wait to retry can cause problems and result in overly long wait times and frustrations for people who may only have a limited window in which to play.
SOE if you want a 24 hour wait make it 24 hours real world so that people have some clue as to when they can retry and can plan their lifes accordingly.

Okay this morning was trial number 4 for the 3rd part of the quest (the first audience audition). This time I had two volunteers with me just in case I was missing a patron who spawned but wasn't in a chair or something odd like that. Again the audience provided no information on what dance they liked or didn't like only what flourish they liked or didn't like. But this time I managed to cycle through the dance the audience liked by sheer luck. I have passed the first audition but somehow it doesn't feel like much of an accomplishment because I know it was sheer luck... I simply guessed which dances they'd want to see and this time I guessed correctly.
I'm certain I'll have the same guess work ahead of me for the next two auditions although I do hold out hope that maybe they'll be able to "fix" something.. either increase the feedback or maybe guarantee the audience reveals their preference when you speak with them.
I also thought about the possibility of having the theater manager provide feedback but then the cynic in me pictured the feedback being "they wanted to see dance X and you did dances A, B, C, D, and E. You have to do the dance they want to see. Now come back in 24 hours and try it again."
ah well, one down, two to go.

*sigh*
All I can say is this quest is buggin' me to no end.
And sorry, the timer just seems like another way to stick it to us dancers. I think it really stinks. I am trying to not get discouraged with the game, but honestly...its getting harder and harder not to feel that way.

It wasn't that hard. It is very fast paced though. You need to constantly do flos and /changedance. Just don't do any flos or dances they don't like. Once your flo ends do another immediately, change dance after 2 or 3 flos and never do lyrical or formal dance. I completed mine a while ago, got the xp to read the scroll and I am only novice dancer. I think you need to use most of the dances from the novice line or so it seems to me. Just be careful to avoid flos they don't like and dances they don't like, but if your hotkeys are all set up, it makes it much easier. I added a changedance hotkey too so I could quickly change dances. Start dancing right away and don't stop... changedance, flo, changedance flo flo flo, changedance, flo flo, changedance flo.. well you get the idea. My final performance I passed and I don't think I even listened to the audience

Chiana, That is exactly what many of us have been doing and still we do not pass. It's arandom quest and thus it will be hardor easy depending upon your luck of the roll. My first three auditions I changed my dance 6 times and spammed my flourishesand still failed. These past twotimes when I have passed my auditions I did not change dances as frequently - so had the complete opposite experience as you. The first time the audience still did not say what dance they wanted so at first I chose the novice style dances. They did not like those so I switched toexotic 3. They liked that and I passed. For the second audition they indicated a dance they wanted to see and two flourishes. So I started with the dance they wanted to see and the two flourishes. They indicated they were not satisfied so I changed the dance and did the flourishes they liked and got a neutral rating. I then switched back to the dance they said they liked (rhythmic 2 in this case) and continued doing the 2 flourishes. Got a satisfied rating and passed - having only done 2 dances. By the way the second time the audience satisfaction level message seemed to come more frequently. I did not spam flourishes but rather let the flourish complete before hitting the hotkey again and seemed to get the audience rating message at about every third flourish.
I think you definitely need to bedancing and flourishing before the timer ends as the audience rating timer seems to be closely matched to that. In fact, if you get them to tell you what flourish they want to see, I would recommend doing that flourish right as you get the message that you should be performing. I also agree with everyone who has suggested taking some people with you and having them /conv with the audience. They never got more information than I did but at least they made me laugh while trying to get the audience to talk.
If my luck holds, I'll be passing the third audition tonight. I just wish we could trade in healing XP since I am maxed on that and never know when people are done healing unless they are actually paying attention and stop watching.
Good luck all and hang in there if you haven't passed yet. The dice will roll in your favor.

Well, I finished the 3rd performance last night in Theed. I only failed once, on the first performance.
Here is what I think about the quest. Talking to the audience, or having somebody talk to them for you is key. While you may not get all the likes/dislikes you will hopefully get a few helping hints.
I dont think that spamming flo's work very well, I just did one flo every xp tick and it seemed like audience satisfaction was increasing the same rate as when I spammed flos.
Remove any dislike flos from your toolbar, same with any dances they don't like.
Try to do every flo except for dislikes for each dance, except for dislikes and lyrical/formal. If you get a like message on something do that one early, and do it several times.
For a liked flo, do it in every dance you use, for a liked dance, do every non disliked flo.
Never, ever stop dancing. Use changedance instead!
Now I just gotta save up enough xp to actually use the dance scroll.

I got the dance a few days ago. Rewrote my macro for this quest and it worked on performance 2 and 3 (in the same night) plus helped another one pass the 3rd performance. I was stuck on the 2nd performance for almost 2 weeks.
Here are the 2 macros I wrote for this quest. Just delete the "disliked" dances and flos as applicable. Do not delete anything unless they specifically do not like them. It may not work for everybody, but it did hit 3 dancer performances perfect in a row....just get a quickness buff or use acca to run these macros though.

I am so frustrated also. I have [FAILED] the 3rd aution 5 times now. I have used Kadaara and Theed Theatres. I have done exaclty what the audiance asks for...brought friends to help question the audience...done effects...The audience gets to Neutral, then I fail....and if it isn't bad enough I failed 5 times in a row, that blasted all caps, bright yellow [FAILURE] makes my heart drop into my stomach. I have /slapped, /punched, /spit, /rude, /cry, /pondered the theatre manager, too...Makes me feel a tad better afterward
I am going to try the Eisley Theatre tonight and see how that goes. I will change dances more often...but jeeze, how much rejection can a girl take??!! *sob*

This is good. These dances always make me move out of the (very small) part of the stage that I have to be in for the performance.
