Thread: Here I stand...

The other area you will see a damage dealing bot or doc/combat bot used is in highly contested and camped high end loot mobs. With single players becoming more powerful you'll see an increase in the ammount of loot coming into the game which in turn causes combat to become even further unbalanced. The players without a combat bot will find themselves without the needed equipment or worse having to do even more missions to get the extra credits needed to buy the even higher end gear.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

Eaca, I'm sorry but I have to burst your bubble: it had already be done before:
The Automated Online Role-Player (j/k)
I just checked this out and it is sooooo funny in light of Eaca's macros that I was almost rolling! Eaca, you've gotta get your combat bot set up with some melons!Dude!

Oh, gosh yes - someone put this link up on the Gypsy site a few weeks ago - it's a scream!
Melon, anyone? ![]()

Well I'm sure if I get banned for "harming others gameplay" for this than about every live ent across all the galaxies would be about in an uproar, if they want to ban an ent for making a combat bot that hurts combatants then they need to answer why they don't ban ent bots that hurt entertainers
- Problems, bot misfunctions and the like
- Any functionality that you'd like to see to make it easier to use
Once I've got the big bugs worked out and a bit more functionality we can move onto beta testing, which will require 2 groups:
- A group of a few people willing to run bots, I'll provide the script and setup information, you just need to host it for testing
- A group of people willing to take the group of botsand put them thru thier paces, leveling them a bit, basically run around with a herd ofPC's who aren't there and follow your every whim.
Then after we've verified group functionality and added a bit more group oriented commands, I'll open the box ![]()
Post here if you're willing to help in any way, include which phase you're willing to help on, seems like ahazi is as good a place as any to test these, so I'm figuring might as well start there ![]()

On our way out of the Coronet cantina into the wilds, before I discovered that its auto-AFK toggled on, we were attacked by CorSec. Credits were looted, and split between group members. In it's lowly Novice Marksman stage it needed a lot of help with CorSec troops, but C-aR fought like a champ on auto-defend. ![]()
I'd be very interested in alpha testing as well, but I don't know that I'll have the opportunity before you move to beta (then, depending on how things go, I don't know if I'll miss beta too hehe), since I won't be back in-game till after Sunday.
But if I can help, I will!
If it works via responses to tells, at least in some capacity, and you can send cross game tells from EQ2..
Does that mean I could theoretically remote control my SWG char while I play EQ2?

As I understand the system by which C-aR works, and my firsthand testing of it...
Yes, absolutely. You could issue it commands while playing EQ2.
I'd give Eaca the final say on this in case there's something I've missed, but I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work. The commands are in the tells - if you can send it a tell, you can send it a command.

Yes you can infact control your bot via tell from EQ so long as it is configured to recognize that "admin"
Eeeek, strike that, while possible, cross sever admins are NOT recommended due to a security hole (but its your bot do as you want), I fixed the same server security hole for same server tells, and patched in a temporary fix for my cross server tells, but there's kinda a big opening there for other cross server tells if they can find out what server you're sending tells from and your characters name there.
