Meh, that's not going to be as much fun now.
I was never good at drift correction, but that's going to ruin some stuff for some people.

I'm sorry to have to say this, but I'd rather have accurate positioning than glitch-free dances. You're telling me I could see myself on one side of the cantina and others see me clear across the room? That's pretty unacceptable to me, especially since I consider it dumb to appear to be dancing through a table, and rude to appear to be dancing on top of someone else.
I'm not sure I can accept this hack as a fix. Does this end up affecting our other dances too? If I'm dancing popular, do I end up drifting off into walls on other people's computers now?

Well people were putting so much stress on the fix to the base dance. To be honest, I'm not sure there is a good way to fix it that wouldn't hurt some other aspect of performance.

Then the next "easy fix" is to get rid of the base dances with a lot of travel and turn them into flos instead. Then we can just use all the low travel base dances. That's why I keep pitching calling all known flos from all known bases. It's still a work around, but we are going to have a work around no matter what as long as we have long running anims that are strung together with no interruptions.

And why I've always thought your suggestion along this line would be ideal. But would they/could they go for that?

I don't know, I don't see why not. It's basically just renaming our "abilities."
It seems like they would need to give us base dances out of order with flos, so, you would learn fewer base dances than we have now, but you would get them in lower boxes. Then, you would add to your flos as you moved up the dance tree, you just wouldn't get any new base dances (because they don't have any more to give us, though, some of the current flos might be able be to be turned into "new" base dances).

I came acrossabuglast night on TC-5. Twice, after doing /changedance instead of /stopdancethe other entertainers saw me at a completely different spot than where I saw myself. Not just that - they saw me at a place I hadn't been. In the cantina, they saw me standing at the top of the stairs under the arch. In Scip's barge they saw me standing across from where I was (say approximately 15 feet beyond). The only way I could correct it was to /startd and then /stopd again.

I played with it on T5 for about 5 hours last night. Spinning combined with drift takes us out of position (from the viewer's perspective) even on the stationary base loops. Not only was I unable to find a consistent way to control my movement from my perspective, aseach viewer's perspective is different, there was no way to give a consistent performance.

I think the fact that this didn't get published yesterday is a good thing. Take it as a sign they are working on the issues. If TC5 had been meant solely as a load test for the Bazaar changes, they wouldnt have made it amphibious for us, so everyone spend a little time over there this weekend, if you haven't already, and try to /bug some specific instances of problems. Your bugreport need not be an all encompassing description, I'm sure the correspondents have those nailed tight, I've seen them working very hard on it
so Frog out a quad master, test some dancing, but also try to find some ID bugs (they have been cropping up too) and report any Music hiccoughs or skips or crackles you notice too.
