Just curious to see where we stand on this topic.

1. Do you leave the keyboard while your avatar is dancing?

2. What do you think is an acceptable amount of time to leave an avatar unattended while dancing?

3. Would you be willing to give up any degree of unattended play beyond the 15 minutes for theAFK flag to appear above your head.

Please feel free to explain your answers. Thanks!

1) No. I stop performing if I am AFK. (Although I did once forget to step forward when I had to answer the phone, oops!)

2) For my characternone at all. Although I can accept people who leave their character, for a minute or two,to go to the toilet, answer the door or phone.

3) Yes!

1. the first time I mastered musician? only to get a drink from the kitchen or something similar. the second time I mastered musician? absolutely.Since I mastered musician? not at all.

The stupid XP limits that you can have annoyed me. From ATK play the first time, I had maxed out music and ent healing xp after mastering music. When I restarted entertainer, the dumb limits threw all that XP right out the window. I felt the game owed me some XP... Anyways, I feel the XP grind is awful for entertainers, so unless the requirements are changed, I don't mind players AFK'ing someto get XP. AFK play is not acceptable for any benefit outside of basic healing and XP gain, because anything more is where entertainers are really supposed to make their credits (in live, Mind buffs. in the future, whatever we're getting above and beyond the inspiration buffs.)

2. I dunno, maybe 1 or 2 hours per 24 hr periodto offset the necessary grind.

3. yeah, anything after the 1 or 2 hours stated above.

again, let me just say that if the XP requirements were lowered, I would be against all AFK play after 15 minutes.

1. Do you leave the keyboard while your avatar is playing music? If I do leave it is for short periods...bio breaks, getting snacks..that sort of things

2. What do you think is an acceptable amount of time to leave an avatar unattended while playing music? I think anything longer then 15 minutes is unreasonable...but there always exceptions.

3. Would you be willing to give up any degree of unattended play beyond the 15 minutes for the AFK flag to appear above your head. Sure...but the mechanics are difficult. I have been ATK and holding guild meetings and get logged out because I have no movement....and that is annoying...so any change to this would have to address things like that..or merchants who get logged because they are updating their vendors..and things like that.

Since I've been a musician for most of my time as an entertainer, I'll vote in this poll.

1. Do you leave the keyboard while your avatar is playing music?
For bio-breaks, a snack or soda from the kitchen, yes. Other than that no.

2. What do you think is an acceptable amount of time to leave an avatar unattended while playing music?
10-15 minutes. I think the default auto-afk flag is at 10 minutes. Seems like a good enough duration.

3. Would you be willing to give up any degree of unattended play beyond the 15 minutes for the AFK flag to appear above your head.
I would gladly give up even a 1 or 2 minute unattended play if it means getting rid of AFK bots.

Cancelled 7/27/05 - I joined to play Star Wars, not Jedi-BH Wars. You've ignored/gutted/abused just about every other profession in the game, while spending most of your time working on Jedi and BH as they related to Jedi. You've basically killed the game for anyone who doesn't want the glowstick. Congratulations.

Are afkertainers allowed to answer?

1. Yes

2. Any time you want

3. I would sadly have to drop musician, and probably cancel my account

To be honest i cant see anyone in this forum agreeing with me - this is not trolling - this is just my opinion on a profession that i am "master" at.

1. Do you leave the keyboard while your avatar is playing music?

Sometimes, usually its to get a drink or use the restroom.

2. What do you think is an acceptable amount of time to leave an avatar unattended while playing music?

10 minutes, if dinner was really bad or something of that nature

3. Would you be willing to give up any degree of unattended play beyond the 15 minutes for the AFK flag to appear above your head.
Absolutely, If you're gone over 15 minutes you really didn't have time to play the game as that's 1/4 of an hour

1. Do you leave the keyboard while your avatar is dancing?

Not for any prelonged period of time ( a minute or so) for the usual bio break. Too many people know my views on unattended play id be torn to shreds if I was caught. If I need longer I logout always.

2. What do you think is an acceptable amount of time to leave an avatar unattended while dancing?

I accept that rl can be intrusive on gameplay but would be happy with the existing system of 15 minutes forced afk tag then 15 minutes logout.

3. Would you be willing to give up any degree of unattended play beyond the 15 minutes for theAFK flag to appear above your head.

Yes.

Esharra,
I think you also should have asked what Level of Entertaining skill the respondant is, on there main entertaing character.
I'm getting the impression that those who are say things similar to "If I look away from the screen for 5 seconds, I stop playing" Are probably already Master. and therefore are in no need of the XP..
I think its alittle extream to just stop performing because you ran to the Restroom or whent to get a drink, let the animal out or answer the phone.. I think most people can understand if you had to leave for a few seconds to do that sort of thing.. but thats just me, because I'm dancing solo in my cantina without the group XP bouns, and relying solely on guildmates for healing xp.

actually, I'm not. I still have a whole EH tree plus half a box, and the reason why I haven't mastered in over a year is that (on top of not playing that server much) I refuse to afk. I miss out on doing exotic3 at the crawls, but oh well... I'm determined to do it right this time

I do have a master dancer elsewhere though, although nowadays she mostly does mayoral work.

1. Never formore then the standard bio break or getting a drink. I might not type well on the phone, but I am here if it rings. And I'd tell the group why I was going for that minute.

2. I figure you can do most everything needed in 15-30 minutes, or

3. Yes, you should be booted. Or unable to do anything. Either is fine. I'd not notice.

I don't imagine booting is the better choice, as others have difficulty, or a long time, getting in. I'd hate to think someone accidentally needed 31 minutes to do something that came up, only to take another 15 minutes to log in. But the xp gain and buffing ability at least should stop at that point.

I go to the store about the same time daily. I'll sit, pull up my AFK tag, and either leave my group if it is big, or just ask if they mind I am gone 15 minutes.
