Thread: We should be able to buff ourselves..

Getting hard to find entertainers to take out in the field now... I guess the point is that we shouldn't need more than one Dancer, if she were able to buff herself (like I can as a Doc) she'd be as happy as anything, and might even keep the skill.
This is the ONLY point I have been trying to make...lol. Not all Dancers are simply social butterflies and do nothing but cantina dance. Some of us take up the entertainment profession to keep our regular huntmates and guildmates healed and buffed in the field, and are also very active combat chars. This only makes sense to those kinds of chars tho, obviously.
Oh well, I don't cantina dance much anyway so I don't have to relate with those who have a small perspective on such things, but for the first time since I started playing swg, I have become disheartened with my master dancers.... all six of them...and am seriously, SERIOUSLY considering giving up all dancing skills on the two TK Masters (my regular huntmates are shaking in their shoes at this prospect as they are totally addicted to the buff by now). Perhaps a break from the game is in order for me, as I find myself more and more frustrated with SOE on a daily basis. **flashbacks of EQ**
Why say self buffing is exploitable for Dancers and Musicians? My group (4 of us are TK Masters) ALWAYS plays with HAM between 3,800-4,200k, except for me of course who can squeek out 1500 mind only using pb and then what spice gives me (which I buy by the crate now to try and stay somewhere in the ballpark with the rest of my group)...but all my other stats are right up there.
Soooo....I guess I am wondering why you think its an exploit for a Dancer to do it but not a Doctor? ![]()

Do you always have HAM between 3,800-4,200k [sic?] for free?
As soon as you log on, does your doctor just prepare for 5 minutes and go the rest of the gaming session with 4000 Health, Strength, Constitution, Action, Stamina, and Quickness with absolutely no resource expenditure whatsoever?
If the answer is no, then this does not compare to Dancers buffing themselves. You cannot compare Dancer buff to Doctor buff. Why do you keep doing that when it has been made clear time after time again that they are not similar? Do you seriously believe that a Dancer being able to buff herself for free is fair when compared to a Doctor spending resources to buff himself? If you still believe that, despite the comments made regarding this, then there is nothing else I can say to persuade you. Your mind is made up, and I hope that you will reconsider the concept of game balance.
Dancer buffing self for free: Bad.
Dancer buffing self with some resource expenditure: Okay, nifty.
Push for buffing yourself with a cost associated with it, and we're looking at some fairness here.
