On the other hand, as rude as he was, he does have a point. The thread does say "no girls allowed." I did not mean to offend, and I apologize.

Thank you for understanding, because of reply count, we can say "male character dancers" are minority but that does not mean we should be exiled. Rude I am, yes, but whoever reads those boards will see wishes of women over men...

This is a proffession thread, we want to discuss here for our proffession and problems in the male view. We may not be seen by many, however we are here and always be.

During my tour of all the different professions i am currently training as a dancer and as such have picked out the most masculine outfit, full composite armour .

I have seen what the men have to wear and to be honest it's rather plain in comparison to what been designed for female characters, matching outfits for the different dance styles where sutable should not be too hard to figue out (it seems they managed it with a certain armour type thats female only).

The one thing i would like to see is a couples dance routine where if they are grouped together they perform in sync but to each others gender (what, i dont know as i was born with two left feet)

I think they had planed that men played the instrument and the women danced when they designed this particulare proffesion

I have been dancing now for 4 months, and i can say this, even though alot of times i am the only atk ent in theed cantina, i don't get tips, short of friends of mine, there is no money for male dancers expically the wookiee, Now i know why this is, it is because the males don't find me attrative, and i guess the ladys just don't tip? Of course there was the night i was chewing out a new ent for a really long and annoying spam macro and telling her that she would probally never make any money doing it, espically afk, that i learned afk the night before she had made more than i had in 3 months of atk entertaining

Don't think as a master dancer that you cna solely live on tips. That is just impossible for male entertainers. Both Musicican and Dancer alike.

You have to make money in alternate ways. Such as space missions, entertainer missions, or a side profession.

I'm glad I'm not the only woman playing a male toon on this thread. And wow, its been going on for a long time, and STILL they have not addressed many of the issues. More masculine dances? (I'm sorry but Bunduki and the monstrosity that is Peiyi do not fit the bill - although there are masculine components to Bunduki which is sort of nice) At least we got Breakdance (which drifts all over creation and Dranon and I can't even DO it for long in KFR performances because, hey wow, it looks professional to have your dancers stop dancing to correct for drift every five minutes /sarcasm.

The 'gay' stereotype is not something that unfortunately can be avoided as it's just societal stupidity, sadly. It's why Tal is very quiet about his preferences.

The clothing issue, yes, it's a tailor issure but it IS also a dancer issue when Jabba's Palace gives out clothing that's geared at dancers (FEMALE ONLY). Does that sound like clothing is also a dancer concern as well? Yes, I think so.

Dancers in general need more respect from the devs but more masculine sensual wear that's geared at male dancers and more masculine varieties of the exotics is STILL the long-going issue.

Even tho I play on bloodfin, a festering pool of where you find many immature people, i have not had much trouble with being called gay. The only time i was ever called one of the many words used other than gay was in reference to my character's color of choice. I'm a purple Twi'lek.

I've also managed to be surrounded by mature friends so that definitely helps things.

I don't see a lot of problems with being a man and being a dancer. Most of the concerns I would have are with the perceptions and comments of other players. I've noticed that people don't feel the need to tip a male toon as they would a female one. Also have noticed that if there is a choice between watching me or watching an AFK female toon, I lose out. No patch will stop that at all.

For things to make it more enjoyable as a male dancer I would have to agree with some of the other posts here. More masculine dances would help. More clothing choices for men would help.

I would also like to suggest a quest for a dance that takes a tongue in cheek look at what male dancers go through in order to get the new dance. It would be good for a laugh if nothing else.

I dont know what tip sums female entertainers get as i get tips my self pretty often but only if i speak with the person who gets buff, if i dont i might get some random tip but almost always all those i have greeted and talked with have tipped me, regardless of their gender.
My main idea for this character was a male dancer, i always enjoy being in minority, makes you feel more special and its always good to have group of entertainer girls around you

and yes we still need more clothes, tho i am pretty satisfied with current dances, bunduki being nice with two swords, gives it more masculinity.

Bunduki is an awful dancer, swords or no swords.

I like tumble, aside from the fact that you can drift from one side of Naboo to the other doing it.

/wave at Antti

I'm happy with my 2 main costumes... white ribbed trousers and jacket (with pink trim to match the AV-21 - naturally), white sneakers, big gold medallion and gold belt. I'm then all set for a nights dancing and asking the ladies to chuck their clothing at me. The other outfit is more Abba-esque. Gold infiltration suit with white snowboots, same belt and medallion. Goes down a treat with the girls that does, rawr

I only picked up Dancer on my crafter to help a guildie out, but he has eclipsed the Droid Engineer that he was and has become... Der Grosse Funky! I am, as I think Antti will agree, having a shedload of fun as an entertainer. Oh, I'm not German either... I just made the name up as I have a load of German guildies

I've only had one negative comment, that male dancers look "stupid". Well to the bird that said tht - you're right, I do look stupid, but so do Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck - and thats exactly how I'm trying to play the toon... Now get yer knickers off and throw em at me
