Thread: New information on Dancer Mind buffing. (on TC)
could i please get a clarify on what exactly is being buffed (ie: mind regeneration or actual mind statistic increase)and how i know if its working? After the patch i tried it on someone for about 10 minutes after targetting them with /setperform and nothing happened. Tried it several times on severel people for a few minutes each and no one's mind raised that i could tell from there HAM bar. Does it only take afect after they leave the building? I just would like to know that its working ). I only have exotic 1&2 how long should that take to buff and for what duration anyone know?
Thanks alot in advance
Musicians will buff Focus/Willpower. Dancers will only buff Mind.
Seems fair enough, don't want either class left out, and the two classes compliment each other.
/cheers again
your patrons still probably have to type /stopwatch so they will stop watching you, if they want the buff to take effect immediately. like someone else mentioned, it should also take effect after they get a certain distance from you and they automatically stop watching.
I was doing some testing on the new mind enhancement buff and I'm seeing some differing results. I'm a Master Dancer and was dancing a mix of Exotic 3 & Exotic 4. I had the person /watch me and I did a /setperform on them. After the full 5 minutes I had them /stopwatch and give me the results. As expected they received twice their normal level of mind. I then had them leave (they were heading out anyhow) and report back to me when it dropped. To my surprise after 20 minutes he sends me a /tell and informs me that the buff has faded. I thought this thing was supposed to last from 1-3 hours, not 20 minutes. Is this a critical failure?

As a combo Master Doctor and working on Master Rifleman, my mind pool is a precious resource. I am extremely happy to see this change going live. Speaking for myself, i will be making an extraset of green stat buff packs just to buff my neighborhood dancers so they CAN flourish all they want. Musicians too, buffs to focus/willpower will be very nice as well.
I am so happy to see this go live, I can FINALLY fire more than 12 times with my T21.

Yes it's #1 target patron, /setperfor dance/flourish , 5 min's later the patron /stopwatch and the buff kicks in.
*hugs*

Thank you Calyndra for the answer.

I had no possibilities to test it yet. So my question.
How exactly does it work:
1. I target the patron /setp then start to dance. After he /stopwatching the buff takes effect?
2. The Patron watches me, before he leaves the cantina I target him /setp, he /stopwatching, and the buff takes effect?

The solution here is actually pretty funny. What I do is to /invite the AFKers until im in a group of 19 of them. Then I goto bed running my own macro.
/stopband
/ui actiontoolbarslot1
Just a small FYI. Using ctrl-h, open the holocron, go to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and select the sub topic Gameplay. The second item reads as follows:
- Is AFK-macroing okay?
Yes it is.
Contrary to what many think, AFK-macroing is not outlawed, and that would presumably include AFK dancers/musicians.
As to wether or not it's "right" that an AFK macroer is able to buff, that's really a matter of personal preference rather than a game rule. In smaller towns there are not always entertainers available and I for one wouldn't mind using an afk entertainer to buff/heal if no one else were available.
On the matter of 125% buffing...
I know currently that you can do so for people on the production servers. You and your target have to both be Overt in order for the buff to take at 125% though. I don't know if they changed it on Test with the current patch, but I would think that it would remain the same.
