9.2 is still the last I've heard... so, what's the over all verdict? Will the end prize make or break it for you? Are you having fun?

My own update, from the dancer side of the quests:

I struggled with the approval rating for the second performace a couple of days, getting to 199 as the highest score. 250 appears to be the magic number.

But today I think I've found the secret to approval ratings.

Halfway through the performance, I was still at only around an 84 approval, and I was changing dances and hitting a great variety of flos, using the ones the audience wanted to see and avoiding the ones they didn't like. So I tried a new strategy. By the time I'd finished the second half of the performance, I succeeded with an approval rating of 300.

I ran back to the NU cantina to do the next 'advertising' quest, and got my 30 watchers in pretty quickly (thanks againeveryone!), andthen back to Theed to test my new hypothesis. Wouldn't you know it... just then, "The server will be shutting down in 4 minutes." In my haste to try to test this out, I missed hitting the stage in time by3 seconds (I knew I should've made my morning coffee before trying this out). Failure, bah and profanities! I have to wait 24 hours to see if my method really works for getting high approval ratings easily.

So.... cliffhanger! I'll let you know sometime tomorrow if my newmethod works or not, and will reveal all at that time.

Yeah, I didn't state that very well... what I meant was, "are you waiting to see what the end prize is before you give a thumbs up or down?" Like, could it make up for any lackings in actual gameplay. I'm thinking the answer would be "no."

thanks for asking

Yup, that's my only real job at this stage. Pushing for Dev info on these quests has been hazy from the start. I'll push again and see what happens.

Very useful thread guys, keep it up!

I am more of a journey person than a destination person, so I am not so concerned about what the end prize will be unless it is Musician/Dancer exclusive, then I will be thrilled. If the end prize is not Musician/Dancer exclusive then I expect it to be in line with the monetary rewards for the quest which are, as I said before, laughable - at least for veteran players.

The end prize has not been implemented yet on TC2.

My verdict is that the new quest is lacking in depth pretty badly up to this point. (The TM acts like there might be something after Mission Seven)

The advertisement thing is rather lame, and as I see it will only create a steady stream of people afk /shouting in the cantinas to "Please watch me, I'm on an entertainer quest." (even with the great new feature that will allow us to ignore afk spam, it won't be long before all the afk shouters disable the afk tag)

The payouts should be at least doubled... maybe tripled across the board. (even if the quest is repeatable... it will be very time consuming to keep 30 people around to watch one perform - and do not think I want this money for myself... the current 1500c for 3or morehours of work is beyond laughable for anyone that has been playing since launch, as I have)

The one thing that I thought was neat up to this point was the NPC audience that one can talk to and be told what song (dance) or what flourish the NPC would like to hear/see. This, although, is definetly not enough to keep me coming back to do the quest again.

If the popularity rank is expanded on and connected to other systems of the game, this could turn out to be a great quest.... if.

Am I having fun? Fun is something I long since gave up on as far as game mechanics for social professions. My fun comes from within. Could I be having fun with the quest if it were not so shallow? Sure, but if I had a habit of holding my breath, I would have died long ago.
