Or the Polite ones that will actually Interact with you. They're the ones who walk up, generally half on top of while you're dancing and start sending you Tells 'You buffing?"
Or the ones who come to the stairs and start spamming 'Who'se buffing?'
Or 'Need invite to ent grp for a buff.'
In the few weeks I've been back on Eclipse and in the cantina I have yet to see ONE person walk in and Speak directly to a Dancer as if she were a human being and actually use a Complete Sentence to discuss the issue of buffing.
I prominently added a line to my bio that says
No. I Dont buff so dont ask. Go find an SOE sanctioned and approved buffbot.
They never bother to read it.
So as for me... I'll pass on the whole thing for now.
I go through stretches where I feel the exact same way!
Recently the only people I have given buffs to were the ones who used my name while directing their question to me lol!
If I see, "Hey Else, any chance I could get a buff?" or something similar I do it. If I see, "need invite 2 else grp" or something along those lines I either stop dancing and sit or just ignore the person until they go find someone else.

ROFL.
Oh yeah.
It is not just you. I don't give buffs to imbeciles. Sorry, that's my policy. Call me evil if you want.
On the other hand I offer free buffs to anyone who is nice. It's no skin off my nose and I am going to be dancing/flourishing anyway so why not /setperf on a nice person? And I always buff guild members if they ask (but my guild is nice and usually do not want to put me out so hardly ever ask).
Or 'Need invite to ent grp for a buff.'
ROFL.
Oh yeah. That one too.
I get that a lot. Many players actually don't know that you do NOT have to be grouped to get a buff. I actually had a guy argue with me over this. I kept telling him you don't have to be but he insisted. I said, "Try it my way", drank some T'ssolok, and gave him a buff in half the time he was used to, and wow, imagine this, it worked. Hahahaha.
Now on to the issue of the title.
I would say I wear my titles in the following order:
Master Entertainer -- about 75% of the time
Master Dancer -- about 20% of the time.
whatever-side-prof of the month I am doing (novice chef right now) -- 5% of the time.
Now the intriguing question that I do not myself know the answer to for sure is, why do I prefer master entertainer over master dancer as a title?
I think part of the reason is that there are so few Master Entertainers in the galaxy anymore. It was a holoprofession pretty much exclusively. No buffbot would ever bother with it (it doesn't improve buffing). And most people do not want to waste the extra points on the ID branch that is useless for the most part if you are not going into ID. And of course most dancers are not interested in foot2 or formal2. So only really hardcore musicians who want to have the Mandi and/or Ceremonial bother with it.
I actually like both music and dancing though. I have novice musician and knowledge 1 because I like the ballad song. I write song lyrics a lot.... 4 of Hyperdrive's standard 10 or so songs were written by me -- 3 with lyrics, one instrumental. And when I am alone (not in the band) entertaining, since I hate dancing to silence, I usually play music rather than dance.
I guess my character really is an "entertainer" rather more than a dancer. She is a hybrid of dancer and musician, and does both equally well... so maybe that is why I wear the title.
I don't wear it to avoid being asked to buff. But I think it has that effect. I don't think players know what the hell a "master entertainer" is anymore, since almost nobody is one (well, except on Hyperdrive, which is almost entirely master entertainers who also are master of one of the upper profs as well). And it seems even more people are surprised at a Mandi today than they used to be at launch time... heheh. See what macro-grinding leads to? It is so sad in a way.
Oh well... time to head out to band practice.
