I'll look at it again but my last count was 7 out of 12 posts saying it did not lower their opinion of the class. Most of them do express a lowered opinion of the dancers as individuals but I really didn't percieve that as the problem being addressed here.

Did the advent of movies cheapen Broadway? What about television?
Movies are just like macro scripts - the actors aren't performing there for you where you sit to watch it. Heck, they're not even performing when you watch it.
Movies are certainly cheaper than Broadway plays. By at least a factor of 10, right?
But did they cheapen Broadway plays, or do Broadway plays continue to hold their value?
Now if a bunch of hacks got up on stage on Broadway, that would cheapen it. But Broadway is populated by the best of the best of the profession, most of the time. They do their jobs well and they're paid well and respected for doing so.
It can be the same with at-keys entertainers, no? If they do their jobs well, won't they be well respected and fairly compensated?
