Hmmm, the clothing bug is insidious indeed. The solution to this one is to wear hawtpants at all times.

Seeing this video, the new props look nice (excpet the one with the red trails that looks like someone drew in the trails with a red crayon on top of the image). However, what I forsee happing now is every AFK dancer is going to be dancing away with the bright glowie props in the cantina (just as they tend to spam effects in their macros now) and make the cantina one being epeleptic (sp?) seizure plus completely lag out everyone who enters the cantina.

I know its too late, but the glowie props should all have a duration on them, maybe 30 minutes. That way the AFKers can't bring the cantinas down even MORE than what they are now...

I want to be happy about these new props, but I just can't get over the abuse they are going to see in the cantinas spoiling them and making everyone hate them before we can even do a proper show with them...

WOW! I always said I wasn't really into the props but after seeing this I can't wait to drive out to the Village on Dathomir or travel to Lok and wait for it to get dark.. I just have to wonder how much of this is because of Tiaga's abilities as an amazing choreographer. When I do this will it look like like I was shot in the bum with a dart or like I'm moving with grace and ease?

/ovation for the entire troupe

as an aside, I share the same fears about afkers. But maybe that's one more thing that could get the issue addressed. Combat players are notorious with their complaints about lag. Get a few afkers using all these props lined up in the MO cantina and it might be just the ticket needed to finally get everyone on board the No AFK train.

T's routines were awesome, one of the Bunduki sets he ran me and Sip through was just "bam bam bam!" and I was like "wow!"... but even just messing around, the props really look graceful and neat.

The Ribbons are the only ones that I have reservations about. The animation on them is just awesome and the color is great, but they don't have any texturing or transparency so the look a little too MS Paint. Which is a shame, because they are really the coolest of the props.

I keep wondering if they just didn't get finished.

Wellmany of the people on my server are still amazed by the /smoke with costume change effect so I don't know how critical they'll be about the ribbon prop problems.

This isn't a slam on the people on Shadowfire by the way. It's just that there are so many afkers that patrons coming to the cantina aren't really expecting an actual show. In many ways this is good since lately I've been having lots of trouble with timing. Don't know if my typing got slower or if it's the sudden fluctuations in fps problems I've been having but it sure does put a damper on things when I try to toss in a leg kick and end up witha movethat looks like I stepped in something foul.

I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only person that thought the red trailers/ribbons looked kind of...um...amateurish. I had been hoping that they looked like that due to the fact that red tends to bleed into itself whenmovie files (and other media files)have been compressed.

I've been having similar problems. It's usually when I'm trying to start a dance at the same time as my partner. Even though he's counting down, weend uphaving to start and stop the dance 5 times until weare in sync. I know it's because of server lag and it's a pain in *ss. We end up looking like dorks. (Well, we are dorks...but I'd prefer that people didn't know thatright away.)

The funny thing about the ribbons is they didn't look that flat red on my laptop - they were striped. But I didn't think it was an improvement.

The other thing with the ribbons is they don't act like ribbons. A real ribbon would be a fixed length, and when you stopped it moving it would float to the ground. When you slowed down the movement it would bunch up. So I see them more as holographic trails rather than ribbons. Once you accept that, it's not so bad. But I do prefer the mystic ribbon and sparkle ribbon since they make no claims to be anything but a holographic trail.

The other "ribbons" are definitely holos... I figured the redribbon was intended to be a solid object but done as a particle effectinstead of a 3d object. If they are supposed to be perceived as holos, I think they really need to be gussied up and be less opaque like the other holo props.

If they are meant to be "real" ribbons, I think they've got to have some texturing at least - make them glittery or something. I just hate to be a pain in the butt about it because I'm sure these were a nightmare to do and I didn't think we'd actually get ribbons because of that.

The holos are an easier option art wise I think, so I'm scared the red ones may be a best effort of giving us "real" ribbons. I'm also guessing that they "grow" because having them hang and pool on the ground when they aren't being used is probably really hard too.

I know in EQ2 they had a hard time getting long clothing to do that right when a char sat... at one point it rippled like water surfaces, heh - and that was in a game with a much newer graphics engine.

the whole time when we were filming, the ribbons look black to me... maybe it's related to my video card problem
