Well on the bright side, you will be able to get cybernetic replacements now!
Me thinks that the announcement about an impending announcement was announced without getting prior announcement approval - and they are just hoping we'll all simply forget about it . . . .

But seriously, why the hell do they make an announcement about an announcement and then don’t announce why there is no announcement??????

While it would be nice if they would at least come back and give us a post to reassure us that they apologize for the delay, but that they've not forgotten about us, I think that they haven't and are still working out the details of our revamp, so I hope we can hold out for a little bit longer. Think about this: a year ago there was no entertainer update in sight and AFK was here to stay. Today the devs are actively planning, if not working on, changes to our profession, and the days of game supported looping macros are numbered. I think there is a new motivation with the devs to "get it right" rather than simply "get it out" so maybe we can be a little more forgiving if things take longer than perhaps originally promised. I get the impression they're working really hard behind the scenes even if we don't necessarily get to see that. Hopefully soon we will find out what's in store for us and then get to experience the changes not too long afterward. I'm extending a little more faith to the devs, but I think we really might get word on these changes in a matter of days, and not months, and I am hoping we will get to see the fruits of these changes in months and not years or indefinitely. As long as we've been waiting for change in our profession, I think we can give them that, else we would have left already.

So, what I'm trying to say here again is, it's gotten to the point where the valley is really low again, and we need developer reassurance that things are going to be okay.
(emphasis added to "developer" reassurance) This sums it up for me completely. It's not the delay in seeing changes, I can be amazingly patient. It's not having the slightest clue if those changes are going to be something I will enjoy. I simply want to know if I'm wasting my time holding out any semblence of hope that my vision of a dancer is possible. If it's not then just tell me now and I'll explore some other profession and see if it can offer me a fun adventure. Don't keep me hanging on only to laughingly step on my fingers to send me falling into a bottomless pit of anger. I want to be a dancer. But I have a vision of what that means. Maybe it doesn't mesh with what the developers are thinking. If that's the case then I need to know. It's one thing for the correspondents to come here and say "we're working with them on some exciting changes" but if those exciting changes are going to turn this profession into something I have no interest in doing then why continue to torture me? Just tell us the grand vision. I don't need to hear that X change will be pushed live on Y date. I just need to know what the devs think the dancer is going to be doing at some point in the future. If the answer is "we don't have a frelling clue". Then say that. But the promise of change is not reassuring me. I can't take that branch and use it to stay afloat. For all I know the branch has poisonous thorns that will eventuall kill me.
cheers,
