Maybe you and all the other "combat players" should have thought of that before they mis-treated all the entertainers out there and refused to tip them, causing them to either give up in despair or quit the profession and become "combat players" themselves.

If you people would be nice to entertainers instead of licking them (eww) and harassing them, and if you would fork over a tip for the service you are admitting that you desperately need, maybe entertainers would be willing to be there at your beck and call. As it is, YOU aren't willing to do those things (not you personally, the "editorial you" of the generic combat player), so why should WE be?

As one of the former entertainers once said, "No tips? Bad treatment? Enjoy your battle fatigue."

My largest single tip to an entertainer is 20K. I never watched one I didn't tip. I never treated one bad. (I never treat anyone bad).

In fact, this is twice now today you have insulted me, and I am still not treating one bad

PBJoker,

I am asking for a way to "request" entertaienrs in game to let them knwo where empty cantina's are. I am a master dancer and love to travel so it's not uncomon for me to go to some remote spot to work on my act and if I knew were the deprived (depraved?) warriors were I would go there and entertain the troops. I can almost garante Im not alone in this. AFK entertaieners are not needed anywhere, a way to let live entertainers know there is an audiance out there is.

welcome to planet chessack.

i can't wait till they remove afk macroing and he gets in here and starts whining about how the insolent bastards who spent 15 skill points on entertainer are totally ruining HIS profession by clogging the cantinas with basic. i haven't afk danced in at least a month, i still have my master title, i still dance every day,and my profession was not once adversely affected by afk entertainers.

in fact, i'm richer than i ever have been, i get more tips than ever before... and all because of afk macroing!!! getting the hell out of the cantinas as soon as possible kept me away from people like him! my enjoyment of the game is at an all time peak! since i can generalize as well, i'm going to say that afk entertaining is actually a boon for the entire class!!! do i need to substantiate it? hahah no! there's no need!

This is actually a very good idea. Mind if I add to it?

Perhaps you can use the entertainer missions to encourage people to move to emptier cantinas. The idea being that as the ratio of patrons/entertainers in a cantina goes up, the mission rewards increase. Here aresome methods ofimplementing this that may or may not work:

  • Have cantinas determine the current ratio of patrons to entertainers and apply a multiplicative factor to the payout for a mission in that cantina.

  • Same as above, but instead of being a current ratio, determine the ratio for the past period of time like a day- this could be complicated to do though.

  • Create a "tip-jar" for eachcantinawhich other players can donate credits to. The money is then paid out slowlyas bonuses on entertainer missions.

  • Add a bonus payout tied to completion rate of destroy missions from terminals near a cantina.

In any of these cases you'd need to make some changes to how entertainer missions work. Firstly, you'd have to generate missions on other planets including changing the payout structure to cover shuttle costs. Secondly, you'd probably need to prevent missions from being generated in the same town as the terminal in order to keep people movingand prevent someone from easily mining a high-payout cantina.

Ive been a Master Dancer for some time (4+ months). Im curious (not really sure if I should ask cause I'll just get flamed) if they are going to smooth out some of the more novice dancer's flourishes. I mean they look silly and kinda choppy compared to some of the older motion capture ones. I think I read somewhere that the new flourishes they added were all done by hand, hence the choopy looking moves. Also are they planning on adding more flourishes? I only get 3 flourishes on a master dance while on some of the novice dances I get 6+ variations. I'm not complaining just asking. BTW this is my first time posting in this board. Go me.

If someone already asked this, then I do apologize. I spend too much time in the other forums heckling the masses.

Thanks!

By allowing the AFK dancer and entertainer to exist (and your obvious refusal to accept the fact that players who want be entertainers [without being AFK] are complaining...which were almostjust as many as those who wanted the mind buff in your last inquiry).... you have lost of lot of crediblity to your sincerity, Ravinmist.

If players use double accounts ... which are so quaintly called 'secondary accounts'... then healing has been relegated to nothing more than muling... AFK dancers are basically a tool now..not a viable character..

You are losing a BIG market (mostly female).

Did it ever occur to any of you that a player with double accounts can post 2 votes or post several replies to the contrary of an issue they dont like? (Or for an issue they desire?)

When you have an issue as vital to single account players (we like to play it..but only if we can interact)... and the double account holders (we need a drone to heal our grp), you ignore us coz they manipulate the posts here like they do game.

I have a master dancer that Irarely play any more... even in Dath there is always an AFK one.

Weren't you supposed to be a temporary moderator, Ravinmist? You seem very biased to me..favoring the manipulators as opposed to players...be a real spokeswoman and tell the AFK proponents to get a job...and REALLY entertain.

Sorry, but I know I'm not onlyentertainerwho WANTS toentertain without the parasites (afk dancers).

Actually,

Ravinmist job as a moderator is to moderate, not to make policy. Her job is to collect all the concerns of the dancing community and then compose a concise report reflecting there issues. She has done that. Her job is not to take a side on AFK, her job is to listen to the people and report. A lot of people here agree with AFK dancing at some level, and there voice deserves to be represented as well. They pay the same 13 dollars to SOE for a gamming experience.

What needs to happen is SOE needs to fix this issue in a manner that both sides can live with, but that’s SOE’s job, not Ravinmist.

Good report. I agree our profession has been looking up lately.

You meantioned getting us more flourishes. I'd like to see more than just 3 flourishes for our exotic dances. heh

I love the social aspect of being a dancer.

Badeb,
I like it, but I would also add on completion of the mission, the fair to the location be reduced to some fixed fee. Like dancers can take any shuttle/starport for 300 if they complete there mission. I can not emphasize enough how appalling the income of dancers seems to be. I can go out and collect 3k 900+ OQ organics and sell it for 30K in about an hour. Crafters can, well, craft. Doctors charge for there buffs. Here is the funny part... Dancers seem to still ask for tips for mind buffs. Charge a fee, it’s a buff, not a heal Tips for healing, just like doc’s seems like a way to go, but I know of no doc advertising buffs for tips.

p.s. How I would accomplish this is on accepting a mission, the money for the ticket is deducted from your account and the ticket is placed in your inventory right from the mission term. On completion of the mission, all but 300 for the ticket is returned (on top of whatever the mission pays). If you want a free ride back, take another mission

This post makes no sense to me what so ever... as someone else pointed out, yes my job is to collect information, put together reports and pass it on. Its also to try and come up with ideas tofix our problems, but then again that usually involves going to you people to get those ideas.

All that said, where the hell did you get theidea that I favor the AFK proponents?? Did you bother to read the report where half the thing is about trying to get rid ofAFK dancers?? IfI'm being bias and need to change my oppinion then the only change could be in favor of theAFK dancers, because right now I'm working against them because thats what I see the majority of you want. So are you telling me that I shouldn't betrying to stop the AFK dancers?

Sorry but your post just makes no sense. At one part your saying I'm bias and shouldn't listed to a few people that make the most noise, then you turn around andsay I should tell the AFK people to go get a job. (which iswhat I'm doing already.) Either yourA.) confused, B.) don't realize i've been working for a long time to try and get the AFK problem taken care of, or C.) actually telling me I shouldn't be trying to get the AFK problem fixed.

So which is it? Is there something I'm missing here?
