2% is to low, noone's gonna want to pay for these.

They should be at least 5%.

Oh well, was thinking we could make money again, guess I was wrong, to many whiney WS who have hoarded millions or resources to drive up the prices to ungodly amounts fearing others might actually be able to compete with them and drive down costs a little....wow oh well so forth for a free economy.

I just don't understand why the Weaponsmiths are whining at the Dancers -we don't cover their buff anyway...

But then again - mess with one entertainer, you mess with us all

Let's all just ignore the people telling us we are too dense to understand them and talk to the ones who are excited about working with us! The second group seems to be much more fun and hopefully the grouches and grumps will get with it and start being fun too.

Some people just take a little longer to warm up to new people I guess. This is a new era we're walking into where two diverse groups of non-combat players in this game have a chance to come together for the first time!

Let's start building some new bridges and figuring out how we can make the non-combat game voice stronger together. *\o/* /chant Go non-combat players! Go!!

I actually wasn't awake to see what developed in the thread that was deleted/purged - but I do know that my foot came down when people started to flame our correspondents (some of the comments Esh received were down right uncalled for - and in our forums too, extremely rude). Afterall, there are just some people out there that just can't be pleased, no matter what you give them. On a side note, I've organised a small contingent of Dancers and WS from Sunrunner to trundle on over to TC to test some of the issues and crunch some numbers - if there is anything whilst we are there that anyone would like us to check, just give a shout out and we'll add it to our list

So base it on the % of cap rather than 1,000. Easy enough to change in my formula. Just change "1000" in each instance to "MAX", and you're done.

Because there are resources that cap qualities at around 100 and 200.

The resource buff is tested and stacks on top of these resource quality caps.

The problem is not that 2% for high end and 10% for low end is game-breaking its simply that you are giving a higher bonus for worse results. You are telling the C students that they really are B students, or in SOE terms you are upping the quality of lower end items, 155 Blob Candy instead of 150 Blob candy.

What is the point of that buff, other than to make people feel good about themselves by making low end product have higher numbers attached to it?

Its intellectual dishonesty, which is offensive to me.

Your analogy is worthless. Collecting resources is not a matter of intellect, it's a matter of work.

Good grades, which I'm using in my analogy, our just as much a product of work as of intelligence. but thats a seperate discussion

And thank you for the personal insult of calling my analogy "worthless" good to have discussions with no name calling isnt it?

Yeah, well goes with calling our values offensive, as you did before.

Musicians give the WS buff.

Good to know you found a few to test, but I'm pretty sure 1% is not going to make a difference for most crafters. That means a resource is only going to increase from 1 to 10. That's not enough to make any significant change....not just for WS but any crafting profession.

I'm glad to see that they reduced the buff, I didn't like the % buff at all but 2%I can live with. Now a complexity reduction buff, that would be awesome and most crafters would happily pay for that, so don't forget to ask for that next time..

Any buff that increases the chance for more amazing successes while crafting is nice to have, so I'll be looking for buffers on Chilly next patch.. ^_^

Yah, I probably should have made it clearer that my TC character has both Dance and Musician masteries

As for testing, I actually went with some of the people who were crying the most after challenging them to at least base their criticism onan informed opinion, rather than just go join thechorus "Whaa." I actually have one of them crunching the numbers as we speak - which is a good thing, because statistics make me go cross-eyed for some reason **laughs**

Although, I still maintain that the most disappointing thing about the annoucements of these buffs and thereaction from the crafting worldwas the eventual lashing out they paid to the entertainer community. Given the frustrations we've suffered for over the past 2years, naturally we don't something that is going to hurt the rest of the community and we of all people know what it feels like to be stuffed around. It was just both maddening and saddening that many of them forgot that we entertainers are on the same rollercoaster ride as everyone else when it comes to the whim of the Devs, and we are on their side. I think Bono put it best in "One":

We are One

But not the same,

We should carry each other....

a 2% resource quality bonus means that a 980 quality resource gets a 2% increase, or about 19.6, so that the final stat is 999.6 for crafting.

Resources that are 910 or so, for attributes that are wanted, are fairly common. 980+ quality resources are less common, but with the increase in resource stats it will make them pretty much perfect.

It just expands the "perfect" resource market a little bit, as opposed to overhauling it like 10%, or even 5%, could have done.

Although it's easy to blame the hoarders and profiteers for wanting to retain their supremacy, the fact is that ANYONE who sold resources (not just people who used resources) would have seen their businesses suffer. That's not fun. Even for the person playing for a month who managed to dig up 50k of some great resources...the buff would have hurt their potential for profit - and thus moving toward joining the veteran players in terms of buying power and resource quality.

This expands the market and crafting advantage of having perfect resources a little - which is nice. But it won't destroy an economic factor in the game that could impact everyone, not just veteran players.

2% may not seem like a lot, but when you're a dedicated crafter - it's something pretty darn nice. I pride myself in trying to make the best quality stuff I can for people buying it - so their purchase feels rewarding and they'll come back. Something that helps me further that desire is more than welcome. Even if it was only 1%, it still makes a difference and it's a nice little boost to resources.
