To be honest, I think you are. Back when there was room to perform in the cantinas and we found a lot of fun and creative ways to use our tools, when combatants came to the cantinas for a heal they would stop and watch for a while. They were coming to the cantinas after they fought/hunted. Now they wait to heal their bf from the night before until they're ready to get buffed for the next hunt.

Ive thought about this more and realized that the newer players never had those early day cantina experiences, if they were showed that having your mind healed is something that can be enjoyable, perhaps it would interest them. They really dont know any better, they see a buffbot get their buffs and go. But if this could open a new idea to these new players it might be worth it.

Thats cool. But I dont understand why there is such a negative response to my post. Since you know me better than anyone else posting in this thread, perhaps you could enlighten me.

I have been torn on my chilastra secondary account about doing dancer (will be my fifth time in game lol) again on her or going CM. Cm would be more useful to my guild at the moment, but I miss dance so much and really want a logical reason to return to the cantinas
Tiagra's idea about a really quick PvP orientated short duration buff on the entertainer forums would be all the reason I need, but I dont see that happening anytime soon

I find myself torn between a profession that will be a lot of fun or a profession that will benefit my guild the most so I can have more fun with them. Since I have always playedmainly support characters in MMORPG's I am leaning towards CM.

And what would happen if the place by the blue elephant all the sudden became a healing venue right next to the starport spammers, docs, and travellers from all over the known galaxy?

There would be a buffbot at every one and 15 afk dancers to acompany them, Spamming and generaly making it even more laggy in an already laggy place. And then noone would ever come to the cantina at all because they wouldn't need to ever again.

Many of us already DO perform at starports now to spread the word about live entertainment. In fact ENT starport jam on thursday had over 20 live entertainers and many people stopped to watch. Most of them with a few childish exceptions were very pleased to see our performance despite the fact we couldn't heal them or buff them.

Again, not suggesting buffing be coded in for that area, just healing. I doubt the buffbots will come out. And I am assuming something like this wont take place until after they deal with the buffbot issue anyway. Spamming and all of that shouldnt (hopefully) be an issue by then, as well as mass amounts of AFKer's.

Im just suggesting it for the Theed starport area, it was pointed out earlier that the instruments are not available for use anywhere else. So other cantina's would still be full for healing and buffing.

Yes, I was at our first successful one on chilastra. See posts above.

But wouldnt it be cool if by staging this area some of the new players (that never got to experience the cool cantina days) would be inspired by the well thought out performances and with that perhaps would see the entretaining side of entertainer for the first time?

It would also encourage those new players that dont even know what BF is to be healed by ATK entertainers.

I get asked all the time while buffing on my doc "what is BF?" "what is battlefatigue?" after instructing them to heal up before I resume my buffing. Some even ask me to heal their wounds and list mind as one of the things needing to be healed by me

What better way to introduce them to the entertainer professions than a cool show by the lake

Its ridiculous, it makes the whole concept of these outside stages useless.

I was playing my doc when a large group of entertainers put on a live show on the NPC stage in Theed outside the starport.

I was giving very good buffs for a very low price and sharing my payments with the group performing because it was a blast!

The problem was people had to leave the great party and go get healed in the cantina at times because of their BF.

WHY cant these staged entertainer areas heal BF? Whats the point really of having them, and how cool would it be to port in from the starport and head to the lakeside concert to get your BF healed!

To which stage are you referring? The fountain and raised diaz outside the main starport proscenium? Never really thought of that as a stage. It might be nice to make it one though.

I consider any place i the galaxy that has a microphone and/or nalagaron planted a stage for entertainers.

This would get entertainers out of the cantina and put the ATK masters right in the face of other players.

Not only would it make the profession more fun ( how can an outdoor concert not be considered fun )it would also be great advertisement for the masters willing to buff.

You mean where the blue elephant music trainer is located? Never thought of that as a stage. Its more along the line of "dress up." Kind of like the scout trainer having his campsite up.

ok, as I said in my original post I was specifically referring to the Theed starport stage area.

Within it is a useable nalagaron, omnibox and a microphone. This stage is right by the entertainer trainer, but the NPC's will come by and cheer for a peformance.

No other trainer area has useable items like the entertainer ones do, aside from a crafting station here and there.
