Milandra, you're paranoid. Stop it already.
I hope now you understand how your statement about me has a negative and degrading affect Til

Now now, Til. Remember what I always say, "You win a lot more kreetles with carbosyrup than sarlacc bile." Think of it this way, she could have come out and said, "fuc u 2 all teh whinney ents who think I care about this 3D chatroom adding lag they should be playin TSO LOL!" And trust me when I tell you that we don't need to create another one of those around here.

To be honest, I think you are. Back when there was room to perform in the cantinas and we found a lot of fun and creative ways to use our tools, when combatants came to the cantinas for a heal they would stop and watch for a while. They were coming to the cantinas after they fought/hunted. Now they wait to heal their bf from the night before until they're ready to get buffed for the next hunt. I also spend some time in combat. This is the first mmog in which I have played a half-combat char (Esharra is also TKM). I understand the mindset well. So I appreciate that players just want to come in, get buffed and get on the road..just as well by me as I'm not too comfortable conversing with those I don't know right away (can't shut me up later tho). Til's the front man..I've just got great legs. ![]()
But those first few months did teach me the value of entertainment in the minds of all player types. I see it still when they come to watch us at the Riverside or at my theater in Kraytia (can only heal/buff in the dressing room there). Town residents will come looking for me to ask a questions and end up sitting there watching us dance for half an hour.So I don't think it is thatplayers don't enjoy watching us perform. I think that it is that having to get healed and buffed delays what they are wanting to do at that moment..combat.
You see, I am one of the "performer" entertainers. Granted, if I'm in a cantina and someone asks for a buff, I usually speak up to help them out but it is not my reason for being. Our buffing ability was undocumented and un-noticed when I started dancing and wasn't valued until quite a while after I made master the first time. I enjoy performing for an audience. I enjoy putting dances and flourishes, lights and costume together in patterns that others will find entertaining. I enjoy the challenge ofgetting the timing just right with my partner. When Til & I dance together, the only macro we use is a count-down to queue us for dance changes. Even if there was no lag and macros could be counted on for such things to look smooth, I would probably still prefer to do it by hand. Not from a purist's perspective, but because it is an interesting challenge.
Will their minds change about it? I don't know. A lot more players are using TS now. There are other things to amuse them when they want to take a break and grab a snack. And please keep in mind, I'm not speaking for the dancer community here..only for myself. One way or another, it doesn't effect whether or not I perform. That's why I dance.

Not really, I can tell she already felt you were of that stance when she first replied. Just stating that it's ok to have that view.
Understand how I was trying to defend you now?
Anticipated a negative response, tried to dissuade it.
Instead I got some Imperial scum flailing at me for making an "assumption" about her.
Do we need to get into a debate over the meaning of "your" again?

I agree, I remember those days. When fights in the cantina were almost an event
I think the players finding less value in what entertainers have to offer is also derived from the way the game has changed.
All MMORPG's start out the same in my experience, everyone wants to meet everyone, explore their surroundings and are excited about just playing that they spend time doing things most power gamers would never think of.
Then come the power gamers and everything seems to change
No one hangs around and RP's anymore because the quest to be the best has taken over the mindset of so many players.
Competition and ego's are what makes games like this degrade into grinding, farming, grinding, farming. Honestly it will never go back to how it was. Ever... its the same in all games like this.

I loved that too, I remember using creature habitats to create effects while my smokebomb went off and my clothes changed
That was pre-buffs however. I am torn on whether or not implementing mind buffs was a positive move for the social gaming aspect of entertainer

I use TS, but still like to chat and RP a bit in cantina's. And im sure most guys might become interested if they are watching an attractive Twi dance away their battle fatigue in a setting that is more RP than not. Which is what these NPC stages could be.

Only you two, since you were both under the impression that I was making a personal attack. Nobody else did that
Til, youposted an untrue assumptionabout ME only believing entertainers were of value because I want mind buffs.
I honestly dont see how any person that enjoys dancer enough to have it be the first thing they master in game, start their own cantina (when player cities were not out) and master it a second time because they missed it, could not take someone saying that about them as a personal attack.
If I said it about you, in thread you started proposing new ideas, would you take offense?

Milandra is of the mindset that entertainers are solely a support profession, while you disagree Sirii.
Im sorry, what else could this statement mean besides, Milandra believes entertainers are only there to buff us?
And please stop telling me to chill, the day someone can do anything more than annoy me on the forums or in game is the day I stop caring and quit.
