Finally . . . I can talk about these.

I think I am the lone dissenter here. I am not happy!

The new lyrical flos are good, but not great. I simply can't figure out the problem they have with motion capture, I meanyou can buy decent (read smooth) motion capture on the net, why does SOE have a problem with it for the higher end dances?Footloose should have been left alone it was passable before it is unwatchable now. Basic and rhythmic . . . /sigh I'm trying hard not to be negative but I'm not that good of an actor. I just cant see how these flos got put in they look like random convulsions instead of integrated moves. It all comes down to devs simply not caring. I quess in a way I'm glad they havn't touched the exotics, better to leave them with a few good flos than a full slate of junk.

As a whole I was totally heartbroken when I saw the flows. The only really nice animations coming out of the new release are the new emotes, its interesting in that these nice animations are for everyone where as the others are for the dancers. This coupled with the new "dance" has about done me in.

Please accept my apologies for sounding bitter but I REALLY love this game and this profession and its tearing me apart to see whats happening to it.

This one pretty much fits.

Can we even call it "new content" as it's just fixes/changes to our current content that we are then losing ??

I love it Panthu, that would really be awesome. While your at it throw in a gripe or two about the men being left out of the slave skirt thing. Or cloths for us in general! I'm dying over here, lol.

Yes we need to make slaves of the men...

How does changing some of the currently working dance animations do a damn thing to help this dying profession?

I have a pretty simple solution for all of you who dislike the new flourishes and the new dance: DON'T DO THEM. Continue on as ifyou weren't given anything new...

I think it is a heinous shame that the dancer community was given some content and this is the reaction the devs are getting. I might be in the minority, but I like the new theatrical dance and I like the new flos for poplock and footloose. Sure, some of them look like moves out of a bad rap video, but at least it is something. Some much more broken professions (smuggler comes to mind) still haven't gotten ANY love and have to keep waiting until December or January.

No one is saying to LOVE or even LIKE what we were given... just don't sit around and act like you were punished.

Unless you consider paying 400,000 xp for new content to be punishment, especially if you're pursuing Force Sensitivity.

I understand trying to maintain a positive atmosphere around here, but there are some issues that this last development effort by the Devs brought up - serious concerns that should be addressed and confirmed to be received by the Devs. I think they really treated Dancers and Musicians pretty badly during the Quest "development and feedback" timeframe. It would do a lot of people some good to hear, at the very least, "yeah, we know you hoped for more communication, and we'll strive to communicate more with the community while we work on their new content."

Any contact would have been better than none, especially after hearing they effectively muzzled Panthu.

I dunno...just wanted to put in my 2 cents, sorry.

I can respect the anger, but I think it is misdirected. For instance, I can see complaining about something that wasn't implemented that should have been, like the ability for entertainers to buff themselves. But complaining that we were given something? BAH. It is truly better than nothing.

And 400k exp isn't all that bad in the long run. I have already more than made up for that exp in a short period of time. But then again, I am not using my dancing ability towards force sensitivity.

I never liked Exotics flourishes. Now everyone will flame on me blah blah blah blah, looks good in group, blah blah, looks good in make out, blah blah.

No, I hated exotics floruishes because with default dance, speed never matches on that flourish you spin around yourself shakin'. It looks like a clown. Good example for Panthu's theory, named1 doesnt like anims, named2 does..

I don't think this has been asked before, but I apologise if it has... is there a place where we can see the original mocap video files? I'm interested in seeing how fast she is!

Yeah, there is a video that was played at FF. I'll ask about getting it up on the main site again.
